The Terracotta Terrace, pool & Koi pond:
There is a large terracotta terrace with breathtaking sunset views across the valley towards the sparkling towers of San Gimignano the snowy peaks of Abetone. Guests often have their sunset drinks here, or take their evening meals here under the stars. The natural stone-tiled pool area is a tactful 50 metres from the house, and offers amazing sunset vistas, as well as the opportunity to watch the cheeky swallows having an evening dip in the pool. There are plenty of deck-chairs and sun-loungers, as well as umbrellas, the natural shade produced by trees surrounding the pool, and a shower. NB There is no pool supervision, so NO children under the age of 14 may use the pool unsupervised. The Koi pond is a peaceful landscaped area made up of a stone built circular pond, with a seating area. It is very quiet and is shaded by large trees. It is NOT a safe area for young children to roam unsupervised.
Dinner at Patrignone, more rental opportunities:
A four-course evening meal can be prepared and served, either in the Frantoio Dining Room or out on the Terracotta Terrace, weather permitting, for 40€/head including wine. Please make your requirements known at least 7 days prior to arrival, though ad-hoc arrangements can be made later, and we will always try to accommodate your wishes, if we can. As well as the accommodation listed here we have two other apartments. Forno is a beautiful 1 bedroom apartment with its own outdoor area, kitchen-diner-living space, and bathroom. It is not huge, but we think it's one of the prettiest apartments at Patrignone and is a favourite with family and friends. And Le Stalle is a lovely ground-floor 2-bedroom apartment with a lovely kitchen diner and a small outdoor covered patio for al fresco meals.
Please check our website for details [see Link below].
A family concern, and a note about kids:
Three generations of the same family own and run Patrignone. It is owned by Carla Govoni. She bought the property some 20 years ago, and has been painstakingly restoring it ever since - a never-ending task. Her son Simon (me), my girlfriend Verity, and our two kids Harvey and Sam now live at Patrignone and manage the concern personally. Kids: you and your children are totally welcome. We have children of our own, and Patrignone is a great place for kids to explore. But be aware that many people come to Patrignone for a bit of peace and quiet, so please keep your children supervised and in-check at all times. If you want space where they can run wild, please ask - we have plenty of room for them where they can 'go native', build dens, stalk wild-life etc. This is especially important around water. There must be no unsupervised children anywhere near the swimming pool or the carp pool . . . . . and if you'd like more info, please feel free to Google 'Patrignone' or see the Link below.
