Spacious 2 bedroomed apartment sleeping up to a total of five.

Tastefully restored, completely self-contained accommodation - on two floors - combining the best of classic Tuscan architecture with luxurious modern conveniences. Wooden beams, graceful arches, terracotta floors and other charming features. Comfortably furnished with Italian and Oriental antiques. Breathtakingly beautiful views from both bedrooms. Two private terraces - one sunny, one shady - both with panoramic views.

The estate is home to an adorable Shetland pony and friendly hens who generously give of their eggs.

This is serious walking country - there are numerous beautiful walks to be enjoyed from the villa, including one, through the woods, to the eleventh century hilltop village of Querceto - complete with fairy tale castle and resident Marquis. Fine wines may be tasted at the castle cellar, and there is an excellent restaurant in the village to restore you for the (downhill) walk home.

Ponteginori is situated in a magnificent, yet little known part of Tuscany, 25 minutes drive from lovely coastline and close to fascinating unspoiled medieval hill towns and villages. The villa is located in the beautiful Val di Cecina mountains, in 12 acres of garden - consisting of lawns, olive grove, orchard, woods, and wild flower meadows. There are numerous excellent and reasonably priced restaurants within 10 minutes drive from the house. Ponteginori is a lively little village with shops, a weekly market, a particularly good cafe - which is also a wine bar and chocolaterie - and a couple of restaurants. It is ideally located, being close to Volterra (often described as Tuscany's best kept secret) and the pristine beaches of the Etruscan Riviera. Florence, Pisa, Livorno, San Gimignano and Siena are within easy driving range. The area abounds in superb Etruscan and Roman remains.

lovely from A to Z

we chose the location because the room decoration looked really nice, the swimming pool, the poney, the landscape (just by a natural reserve) and the location (25 mns away from 3 different beaches around cecina and some nice towns to visit, incl San Gimignanno, Sienna, and Firenze within 2 hours range). It is all perfect. the settings are close to paradise and so relaxing after a busy year. We have 2 young daughters and they found plenty to do and were amazed with all the animals around.

Penelope and Ray are really lovely host and have made our vacation perfect! thanks again and I hope many others will enjoy.

great location, kind people

A great deal of care has gone into the renovation of the villa, which is tastefully done.
The swimming pool is wonderful, with lovely views over the valley, both from the poolside and from in the pool itself.
The owners are kind and helpful, and their array of animals a delight.
Recommended for:  Romantic Getaway
