Part of the beautiful island of Giglio is a National Park (car-ferry 55mins) and has four good sandy beaches (with beach-hire services, sun loungers, pedaloes etc.)within a 12 min. drive or bus ride. You may explore the island or hire a boat and swim in its many secluded bays. In the evening, eat freshly caught fish and taste the local wine in the pavement restaurants of Castello's winding streets to the strains of Jazz (in August) or along the romantic waterfront Trattorias in Porto

Giglio is a very beautiful and well known island,

Much appreciated for its natural beauty , the charm of its villages and the warmth of its people. It is also well known for its terraces of vineyards producing vino Ansonaco, a golden grape giving a good strong wine. It has four beautiful sandy beaches to suit every taste. Spring time is a riot of colour and perfume from its wild flowers. Rosemary, sage, laurel and broom grow wild in its hedgerows. Rabbits and birds abound as do fish of every variety. Giglio produces honey from the flowers blooming throughout the island. Summer time is very lively with plenty to do on the beach in the daytime, trips around the islands or a taxi boat to a secluded beach. In the evening Jazz musicians often are to be found spontaneously playing in the streets of the medieval Castello and small street parties eating out in the cool evening air.
