Amidst spectacular scenery dotted with medieval villages, castles, green meadows, chestnut woods and mountain streams, lies our lovingly restored stone cottage. Nestled on the edge of a picturesque village, the cottage has wood beamed ceilings, old cotto and stone-flagged floors. Renovated to a high standard, Casa Amato has retained its original charm and character. Castella di Comano - restored mill cottage

Fields Adelaide Australia
Review Submitted: November 29, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
I can thoroughly back whatever is said about this cottage. We stayed in December 2006 for a week and it was divine. The local people were beautiful, the cottage to die for, the little village nearby just wonderful. Trips in and around the general area were awe inspiring, Torsano the highest village in the area, Camporeghna where the local priest was shot in WWII quaint and lovely villiages. I would return in the blink of an eye. The restaurante at Miramonti in Comano was a favourite of ours for a coffee with Umberto and a wonderful evening meal. Not to far from the coast to the Cinque Terre and to the marble hills of Carrara - I suspect in the winter time a wonderful skiing holiday could be had at Prato Spilla.

Idyllic setting, old stone mill with great charm

Aug 2008 - We loved the cottage , it had wonderful original features . Set above a stream where you can hear the restful trickle below the window, with great views across the valley . The village is a short walk away , with a few very simple but rustic restaurants .
Would strongly reccomend lunch at the Montagne Verde , an interesting drive up the mountain roads but a perfect setting with fantastic views and great food . We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to reccommend it .

What a wonderful place to stay

Pamplemoussepam Bristol, UK
Review Submitted: September 23, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We had a fantastic week at this lovely cottage. It really is lovingly restored and our hosts had thought of everything, from the well equipped kitchen (including herbs, decent knives and enough pots and pans to keep anyone happy!), the lovely bathroom (with great shower) and large dvd and book collections (just in case you get sick of sitting on the terrace, listening to the stream bubble). I have never stayed in such a great rental villa. Even when the neighbours were doing some building work, they brought us jam to apologise for the noise! If you want a (very) quiet retreat then this is the place for you. Oh and the mountains are beautiful around there too. Pam & Dominic

Wonderful Italian Living!!

Kammy Sydney, Australia
Review Submitted: September 12, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
For people who love to escape the rat-race of the larger cities, this is the place for you. The property is fully equiped with everything you could want or need. The location is breathtaking and the cottage comfortable. Our week was spent exploring the surrounding towns, going to cinque terra, going for bushwalks, reading, watching movies out of the vast collection and I even completed a 1000 piece puzzle!!

I honestly couldn't fault this property, it was a wonderful area to spend the Tuscany section of our honeymoon, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to relax and leave the rest of the world behind!!
