Very spacious house (250 m2) formerly a farmhouse built during 17th century, totally renewed and remodeled as a cottage. Ideal for several families or groups of friends, very calm and relaxing, fresh in summer because of its thick walls + altitude 400m, wonderful panoramic view on the countryside. No neighbours close to the house, next village is 2km. Exclusive-use swimming-pool, huge garden with olive trees and laurels. Furnished with taste but simplicity, some antiques and a 'writer studio'. Lots of attention to comfort (mattresses, armchairs). The house is perfectly located not far from airports and historical centers of Montecatini/ Florence/ Pisa/Livorno/ Lucca/ Viareggio. Many excellent restaurants nearby. Lots of excursions possibilities to medieval towns, but also horse riding, fishing, bathing, walking, mountaineering, skiing in winter time on Abetone Mount. Very renowned therms, excellent golf and tennis in Montecatini Terme and in Monsummano Terme, only 20min from house.

Ideally located only 15km (20min) from Montecatini Terme and from highway to Florence, Lucca, Viareggio, Pisa. You climb the laced and hilly road towards Abetone Mount and then you take to the right a very tiny secondary road (there is a panel saying Vico), a few meters before Marliana village (situated at distance 2km from the villa). The house has no immediate neighbours (next one is 200/300 meters away). Many activities possible in surroundings: the best Montecatini's restaurants are 5/10min away on the main road between the town and the house, plenty of wonderful unknown villages to visit (Montecatini Alto, Massa, Cozzile, Buggiano Castello, Uzzano, Serravalle Pistoiese, Casore del Monte, Serra Pistoiese, Pistoia, Vinci, Collodi, Montecarlo, Cutigliano, Barga, Bagni di Lucca), therms (Montecatini Terme and Monsummano Terme), biking everywhere around, fishing, bathing under medieval bridge in a river only 20min away, mountaineering/skiing in Abetone (40/50 min).

  • People choosing to rent this house have to be flexible, think they are in holiday, and accept to accommodate only for part of them in isolated bedrooms. But at the same time, the house is articulated in different floors, so usually everybody manages to get some privacy and very good sleep, because of the high quality of the mattresses all regularly renovated including in the 2 sofa-beds that have being put in corners to provide calm and privacy.

Notes: Pets are accepted but better if they stay mainly outside because there is plenty of room around the house for them. We are not responsible for any accidents with children including of course when they are in the swimming-pool. Smokers are allowed but it would also be better if they'd manage to smoke mainly outside. The place is ideal for asthmatic persons, very stressed persons or people who can't bear lots of heat in summer because altitude is 400 meters, the house is in the middle of the countryside, with absolutely no pollution, no noise, only birds. It is a very relaxing house.

Ski: Very good equipments and installations in Mount Abetone, 50 minutes up the mountain from the house. Possible to go only for one day.

Golf: Excellent installations in Montecatini Terme, 15/20 minutes from the house.

Other Activities: therms, theme park, art and culture in medieval towns.
