Surrounded by pines, oleanders, rosemary's and Mediterranean bush, Villa Montecristo sits in the south west coast of the Island at 100mt from the sea along the road near the beautiful beaches of Cavoli, Fetovaia and Seccheto. Villa Montecristo is an ancient charming Tuscan house with a spectacular sea view overlooking the isles of Montecristo and Pianosa and on the bay of Fetovaia. Villa Montecristo is lavishly furnished with antiques, paintings and prints; it is characterized by a wide beamed ceiling drawing room with granite stairs and wood gallery. The spacious garden has tree shaded and sunny areas; there is also a thatch covered terrace ideal for eating outside. The rooms have tiled floors and are spacious and furnished with 19th century antiques. Both the living room and the kitchen have doors leading into the garden. Additional information about rental rates

  • Gas cost is included.
    Water, electricity and heating (only in winter months) costs are NOT included. These costs will be charged according to the real consumption and the actual price. For a medium consumption of ten hours/day the cost will be around 70/80 per week for heating cost and 60/70 per week for water and electricity costs.
    Final cleaning costs (Euros 150,00 for the Villa, Euros 50,00 for the dependence/cottage) are not included and must be given the arrival day.
    Usually we ask a Euros 500,00 caution that will be given back to you at the end of the holiday if there are no damages.
    Sheets and towels could be rented (8 euros p/w) or you can bring them on your own.

  • Cancellation clauses:
    30% of the rental period if you cancel the booking more than 30 days prior the arrival day;
    50% of the rental period if you cancel the booking between 29 and 15 days prior the arrival day;
    100% of the rental period if you cancel the booking between 14 days prior the arrival day or if you don't arrive.

Villa Montecristo a Dream location on Elba

My 50th birthday was to be a special family ocassion and my husband booked Villa Montecristo on Elba as we had 15 in our party arriving from Australia. On arriving at the villa the first impression was of a beautiful Tuscan garden with olive trees citrus beautiful summer flowering trees and a view from the garden over the sea that you always hope will be there as you imagined it when booking. From the front terrace we could see lazy yachts off the coast and below us the best swimming bay on the island. Even though the main road sweeps around the cliff between the villa and the water it adds to the atmosphere as the passing parade is always good to watch from the privacy of the large terrace. A few minutes walk leads to the beach and clear emerald green and blue waters. The local cafe is great spot for breakfast and coffee and the bakery is superb just up the road. There is an excellent seafood restaurant within minutes from the villa and also a pizzeria. The villa itself is beautiful, full of antiques and interesting artefacts relating to Napoleon and his influence on Elba. The rooms of the villa are large and welcoming. There is plenty of room in the house and gardens to find your own quiet spot. With so many people in the villa we also used the dependance - a separate building with two lovely twin rooms overlooking the water complete with full bathroom and equipped kitchen. The owners of Villamontecristo could not have been more helpful and caring in ensuring our holiday was a success. The housekeeper and caretaker were always a text message away and extremely friendly and helpful. The villa was beautifully clean and all linen supplied professionally laundered. For my birthday dinner celebration the owners found a superb chef who came to the house to prepare a stunning Tuscan feast. The villa kitchen is wonderful to cook in for enthusiasts who love to buy the local produce at the market in Marina di Campo 10 minutes away. If you don't have a car the local bus service runs regularly around the island. I dream of returning to Villa Elba and fully recommend a visit. We stayed for 2 weeks and it started to feel like home.

A Trip To Remember ... and a Villa to Not Forget!!

Greetings All:

If you are looking for a place to feel like “home” and yet to be so far from “home” – this is it!! What a wonderful location; great access to all things desired, fully supplied with all furnishings needed – and a more relaxing feel than was thought possible.

I took my sisters and their husbands for a surprise holiday and once I decided upon Isola d’Elba, I chose this Villa. A better choice could not have been made!! It all started with the support, information and service provided by the Owner, Cristina. This was my first holiday rental in this manner and she took care of all my questions and alleviated my concerns.

The island itself has much to offer and we were able to mix in sight-seeing, with beaching, with relaxing. It was very nice and most certainly, another week would have been nice too (but then we never would have recovered from being behind at work!!).

The Villa could not have offered anything more. Clean, Well-Furnished, Shaded when needed, Sunny when desired, Quiet (well, except when the Street Sweepers came by!), Every meal was taken outdoors with no issues - overall, just GREAT!!!

Just one VERY minor negative – no internet!! But then if it was available, many of us would have felt obligated to “work” and that would have defeated the purpose of a vacation!!

I know – crazy Americans!! We are still learning how to take holidays – but this Villa, the Owner, the help, the locale – well, they all gave us a great idea of what a proper holiday is like. Now - I am struggling with where we should go next!!

So … many thanks Cristina (and Jackline and Di)!!!

And for those of you “looking” – look no further!!!
