Notes to the rental rates

• Ryanair now fly from London Stansted to Perugia. Visit Ryanair website. There will be three flights per week: on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Perfect for booking a relaxing autumn, winter or spring short break at Casa Colcello.
  You can also fly with Meridiana from London Gatwick to Florence (135 km).
  You can also fly with easyjet, Jet2, Ryanair, ba.com.

  We are offering a 5% deposit for bookings of two weeks or more.
  Our rentals run Saturday to Saturday until the 27th September 2007 and then they run Thursday to Thursday in order to allow our clients to benefit from the budget airfares available midweek. However, we can try and be flexible where we can.
  Non Saturday to Saturday stays may be available.
  In house catering available - Authentic Italian home cooking. Taxi service. Baby sitting. Guided walks.
  
• A 20% deposit is taken on booking and a £100 breakages deposit is then taken with the final payment which is payable 6 weeks prior to your booking. A welcome pack of basic provisions - tea, coffee, milk, sugar, bread etc is included in the price of the rental. Negotiable rates for long term and late bookings.

The Garden and Pool

The garden has been recently landscaped. Near to the house there are south facing terraces with a mixture of hard landscaping in stone, gravel and grassed areas for sitting out which have been planted with pomegranate, buddleia, wysteria, roses, lavendar, rosemary, thyme, sage, wild grasses, geraniums, passionflower, jasmin, cypress and many more wonderful mediterranean plants. Further away are the ancient olive groves, natural woodland and wild meadows. You may find figs, blackberries and plums and you may see a porcupine, eagles, buzzards or deer or hear the sound of a wild boar. You must spend some time star gazing, there is no light pollution here and on a clear night they are a spectacular sight. The large pool is secluded, private and regularly cleaned, well equipped with comfortable sundowners and umbrellas and benefits from the sun all day long making this an ideal place for the focus of your day. There is outdoor lighting for a late dip or party by the pool

The surrounding area

This is an area less touched by tourism. You will find the local community welcoming and freindly epecially at the local store in Gioello (5km) and San Secondo (8km). Citta di Castello (18km) a wonderful medieval centre with winding streets to wander where people have time to stroll and chat - you will find all shops, banks, supermarkets, markets, ice cream shops, cafes restaurants and a thermal spa. Have a drink at one of the many pavement cafes, people watch, or enjoy the evening passegiatal. You will find plenty to discover, explore and do locally, tennis, walking, 9 hole golf course, 18 hole course west of Perugia, riding, cycling and mountain biking. Watersports -Lake Trasimeno (1 hr) . Try to see Piero della Francescas Madonna del Parto in Monterchi (only 25 mins) other works at Sansepolcro, Arezzo+ Urbino. Many concerts and festivals held in the area in summer. Fields of sunflowers, tobacco, poppies, wheat. Olive oil wine & truffles, superb light, renaissance art, architectur

Local Help

Casa Colcello is managed by Patrizia. She lives nearby, speaks fluent English and is also a walking guide - she can arrange local guided walks. She is happy to give useful advice and is extremely helpful. Her daughter Marianna, also speaks English fluently and is an excellent cook- she offers a catering service where she can cater for you in house, or she will cook for your freezer. She is also available for airport pick up and local taxi service and babysitting - all by special arrangement.
