The town of Orvieto itself is the gem of the Orvieto area. 20km down the road is the Roman town of Allerona. It is a delightful hilltop town whose feudal castle draws many tourists every year. The festival of St Isidoro, which is held on the third Sunday of May, is a great time to visit, with processions and festivities throughout the centre of town.

Fabro is a historical town overlooking main communications route connecting Rome and Florence. Fabro’s importance is still clearly seen as it holds the largest market in the area, selling exquisite truffles, wine and fruits from throughout the area. The medieval castle which stands in the centre of town is of particular interest.
