Historical castle close to Perugia with swimming pool

Monte Lagello was built around 1020 and it is situated on a hill (450m), surrounded by old olive trees and typical Mediterranean countryside. Large swimming pool with a spectacular view in every direction. Being abandoned for nearly 100 years the ruin was completely restored in the early 1990s, respecting the original architecture. The fortress is giving place to 23 apartments, all containing chestnut beams and terracotta floors. Private gardens or little terraces. Monte Lagello is offering a relaxing holiday for nature loving people but it is also close to many important historical centres. During the low season, Monte Lagello offers place for bigger groups (up to 35 persons) with the possibility to rent the communal room (40 m2)

It lies halfway between Rome (airport, 2hrs distance) and Florence, 30 min. drive from Perugia and Todi and an hour from historic Assisi and Orvieto. The nearest bigger towns is Marsciano (16km) with all major shops and a railway station. Little villages with groceries and bars are very close (Mercatello, Spina, Compignano...). Ryan Air is flying from London to Perugia three times a week.
