Sour note
Review Submitted: February 7, 2011
Date of Stay: September 2010
We rented the cottage for a week in September 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. However, there was one sour note. We had not been warned about overloading the electrical system by running more than one appliance at a time. Within an hour of our arrival we were in the dark. When contacted, the janitor explained that a call out to reset the breakers was not in his contract. So, we paid him 30 euros, obtained a receipt and sent it to the owner for reimbursement upon our return home. No response, and no reponse to reminders.
Not a very business like approach I felt, especially since word of mouth recommendations must be important in this crowded market.
We later stayed in an apartment in the castle itself and one of the first things we were made aware of was the overloading issue. This owner went further, giving us the location of the breakers in the locked vault in the carpark and where to find the key.
Disappointing to say the least.

Owner's Response: I am very please you throughly enjoyed your stay in our accommodation and that you scored the house 4 out of 5, however, regarding the electrics, we have owned the property for 9 years and within the first month of owning it we purposefully upgraded at a considerable cost the capacity of the voltage and no electrical problems have ever occurred since. Within this period we have had over 250 happy guests who have spent their holidays in our home with no electrical problems at all. I have enquired with the correct authorities and have been advised that at the present high electrical capacity of the house, every appliance must have been utilised all at once for some considerable period.
I hope this clairfy's what clearly was a gliche
