Spoleto holiday house: Poreta

The property is of pink stone and is set in a large and beautiful garden with two courtyards. It is located in a small village in the foothills of the Appenines and is next to the village church (17th century). Originally there were five farm buildings which have been converted into three houses with all the usual facilities - including central heating, constant hot water etc. The village of Poreta is near Spoleto (about 10k) Spoleto is a beautiful city whith pre-Roman origins and the centre is mostly 16th century.It has good shops and supermarkets and two theatres which are often in use. The annual Spoleto international arts festival is usually held in the last week in June and first week in July. Poreta is quiet and has one bar and shop. There are excellent restaurants in the area and in Spoleto itself. The nearest airports are Rome and Ancona. A car is essential, especially to enable you to enjoy the beautiful hill towns including Assisi, Perugia, Spello and Montefalco

Newly converted from two huge 17th century barns this house is of pink stone, approached by a courtyard with well-head. It is well furnished with Italian and English antiques and pictures. It has a large and splendid fireplace and full central heating (not likely to be in use in the summer). There are two twin-bedded rooms and one room with double bed. All have en-suite bathrooms. The living room (about 10x6 metres) incorporates well-equipped kitchen and dining area. The floors are of terracotta tiles throughout. The bedrooms look on to the garden where there are olive and fruit trees; the living room on one side looks to a garden and on the other to the attractive courtyard. Sky television has been installed and there is internet access via wireless modem, at no charge, if you bring your laptop with you.
