For a really breath-taking view you must visit the Eremo del Sole (The Sun Hermitage) with its beautiful houses, big orchard, an olive grove of 2,47 a and 124 acres of forest. From our swimming pool you can see all there places while you are relaxing in the sun. The Barbican, a tastefully restored Country house, small but with so much charm, was always ready to welcome the previous owners guests. It is situated in the quiet and picturesque courtyard of the Eremo. It retains many of the original features, whilst benefiting from modern facilities. This fascinating property was completely built in stone and has handmade terracotta tiles and ceilings with old beams. The interior is elegantly designed with particular attention to the colours of the walls using relaxing pastel tones. One of the best point of the house is the old stone built Gazebo on the courtyard of the Eremo. It’s particularly comfortable with a spectacular view and where you can have very romantic candlelight dinners.

The House is situated in the forest of Rubbiano in front of a small and quiet village and Spoleto is few minutes drive down the road (4 Kms).The historic medieval and interesting town of Spoleto has a variety of shops, restaurants, cinemas, an impressive fortezza, ancient churches, museums and a Roman theatre.

The property is hidden in the hills about a 5-10 minute drive outside Speloto. If your idea of a holiday is solitude, while still being near to restaurants, etc, well this is for you.

The property is beautiful, the pool is fantastic and the view is great. Federica is very nice and will look after any request you make.

All in all I had a wonderful week in Il Barbacane.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
