The archaeological site is a legacy of the past grandeur of 'Ocriculum' that had its golden age during the Roman Republic in the 2nd Century B.C. as the military stronghold for the conquest of bordering Umbria. The site includes a theatre, amphitheatre and baths, which witnesses its weight as a Roman Municipality. Later, in the Middle Ages, Otricoli maintained, with alternating fortunes, its strategic importance with or against the Pope. A VII Century A.D. Collegiate Church and the medieval town of Otricoli are of interest to tourists.

Local facilities include a swimming pool and tennis 2 km, riding 8 km, Tiber River 500 metres, Deltaplane 1 km, restaurant and supermarket 400 metres. Local events include several pageantries and celebrations in historical costume in Otricoli and in the neighbourhood.
