Relax or see the sights, get back to nature:
Experience moments of absolute stillness, far away from the noise of the city. Your hosts, a retired diplomat and a writer, will not disturb your peace, but are only moments away on Via Palombaro, ready to be of assistance whenever necessary. Write your novel, plan your future, paint a masterpiece -- everything seems possible amid the olive trees and summer sunflowers. Experience real Umbrian life, with no timetables, no stress. Our private swimming pool is 5 meters x 3 meters with jets and seating at one end, 1.5 meters deep. Pour a glass of something cool, take in the endless view and let the jets massage your back after a day spent walking the medieval hill towns. Parents will appreciate having the pool easily visible from the inside of the house, so you can see your children swim and play even if you are inside. There is an outside sink to wash small hands. If there is fruit on the trees, feel free to pick a fig, some cherries, or apricots warm from the sun.
Write or paint, take a sabbatical, spend Christmas:
La Casetta Rosa is ideal for longer term stays and we are happy to offer attractive long term rental rates upon request. The holiday season in Umbria is alive with festivals, including traditional live pre sepe (nativity scenes). The most famous pre sepe in Marcellano, which involves the entire town, takes place only five kilometers from us. Perugia (30 km) has a wonderful Christmas market, while Orvieto is home to the seasonal Umbria Jazz festival. The stores are full of seasonal specialties and the new wine and olive oil are ready to be savored.
La Casetta is winterized, with double paned windows, central heating, and a fireplace insert with blower that guarantees to take the chill off a winter's day. Winter sun streams in through the windows of the glassed veranda, turning it into a conservatory for reading and, perhaps, a little nap.
