San Bartolomeo is in a historic and central palazzo in the old city walls of this famous medieval village in the centre of Umbria. Access is easy and the two bedroom apartment is up an easy staircase and has panoramic views both ways from all bedrooms. Each double bedroom has a convenient bathroom and there is a designer kitchen in the living room, flat screen TV etc and a huge original fireplace which is wonderful in the cooler times. The furniture is a mixture of antique and very modern - leather sofas etc. And the best for Alessi kitchen equipment. In all a luxurious and comfortable home in an authentic village with plenty to do.

Notes to the rental rates

• The rate is €90 per night for bookings under 7 nights and €560 a week (€80 per night) for bookings over 7 nights. We offer further reduced rates for longer bookings.
  The apartments are cleaned before your arrival and on your departure. Extra cleaning and a change of linen and towels can be arranged for an additional charge of €40.
  
• A deposit of 20% for Apartment San Francesco and Apartment Santa Chiara, must be made to confirm a booking. The balance must be paid at least 30 days before the booked arrival date. We will refund the if cancellations are made 30 days before departure. Any cancellations made after that will be be non refundable.
  
• Payments can be made by Credit card or by a sterling cheque, bank draft or by bank transfer into our New Zealand, Euro or UK bank account. Please contact us and we will provide further details.
  Last minute bookings and payments can be made to us in Italy.

Natural and historic and placed comfortably between Florence and Rome, Umbria is Italy’s physical and cultural heart. Its ancient hill top towns and their magnificent backdrop of cypress trees, vineyards and olive groves are perhaps Italy at its very best.

By exploring Montefalco’s lanes and alleys you will discover the beauty of a medieval village. A visit to the museum is a must, it is home to frescoes and paintings by some of Italy's most renowned renaissance painters. It is possible to tour olive mills or just take a stroll in one of the many olive groves that surround the town. Montefalco is well known for the production of some fabulous wine such as Sagrantino. The wine is produced from century old vines, originally imported by the Franciscan monks. There are some excellent wineries and restaurants in the area to experience local specialities and wine. During the year there are also many festivals in the area to experience local life at its best. The most famous is in August when the inhabitants of each of the town’s four quarters create outdoor restaurants and try to compete with each other with traditional cooking as well as flag throwing, crossbows and running the bulls.

Please note Ryan Air have just started flying into Perugia, which is less than 40 minutes drive away. Ryan Air also fly into Ancona, which is just over two hours away and also Pisa. Rome is two hours away and Florence is just over two hours away. (Approx driving times in moderate traffic). The train stations are Foligno form the north and Spoleto from the south.
