Description of the Farmhouse::
The farmhouse and the adjoining building, 20 m away, have been
restored throughout in character with Umbrian tradition, retaining the
original stone walls, wooden beams and the red cotto tiles of Tuscany
for the roof and floors. They have been divided into six apartments of
different sizes, each with private access and separated from an
independent apartment, reserved for the owners. All apartments have
independent heating, a fridge and a TV and are carefully
furnished using some antiques from the region. Garden furniture and a
large covered patio with barbecue and a swimming pool (6x12 m) are
available. Sports facilities in the locality include beaches, tennis and
sailing at 5 km, horse riding at 2 km and bicycles.
From Podere Monte Petreto some of the most famous cultural cities of
Umbria and Tuscany can be reached within an hour’s drive: Perugia (20
km), Città della Pieve (30 km), Todi (50 km), Assisi (35 km), Orvieto
(80 km), Montepulciano (45 km), Gubbio (45 km), Cortona (30 km), Arezzo
(50 km), Siena (65 km), Firenze (130 km). Roma and Firenze can also be
reached by train in 11/2 hours from the Chiusi railway station (35 km).
Nearest local railway station in Magione (4 km), nearest villages for
shops, restaurants, banks and post office San Feliciano (3 km) and
Magione (4 km). A 3 days weekly air connection was established last December by Ryanair between London Stanstead and Perugia S. Egidio airport
High quality farm produce is available on the premises: home made
extra virgin oil, fruit preserves and limoncello (a lemon based liquor).
