Besides the amazing beauty of the surroundings, Sallegrotte features quite a few amenities that can grant you a true memorable stay. The swimming pool is large (6x12 mts) and furnished with chairs, tables, sunbeds and umbrellas. Next to it a very spacious, trellis-covered terrace overlookis the property and grants excellent relax with a chance to dine al fresco. The property also features a barbecue and an oven to bake your own pizza, bread and more. Finally, should you liike to cook Italian style and eat wealthy, we do provide local, organic food and produce we grow and sell, directly from our own century-old store in Civita di Bagnoregio. Fresh fuit and jam, vegetables, virgin olive oil, truffles, wine, bread, whatever you like - just ask!

Even though the house is located in a very quiet, private area (neaarest village is Bagnoregio, about 3-4 kms), you are not on your own. Lara and Raffaele, the owners, live a few kilometers from the house and can reach it in minutes, if needed. That means 100% availablility for whatever you may need - hints, extra service, assistance, anything. This is a great plus that should not be disregarded - we look over you to make your vacation a true memorable one with total safety and absolutely no hassle!

Civita di Bagnoregio, 'the Dying City' our property overlooks, is almost unreal, being perched on a rock rising above the surrounding valley wrinkled by 'calanchi', furrows ploughed by the rain on the friable slopes over many centuries. The valley is reminiscent of a moonscape both in colour and texture. Over many centuries, weathering and the effects of earthquakes have gradually eroded the sides of the rock and houses collapse every few years. Everything here has a quaint and antique flavour: small streets, arches and squares decorated with flowers by the few remaining inhabitants. Access from the road to the hamlet is gained by a concrete walkway that provides a splendid view of the city. Right in the main square we do own a beautiful palace with 4 ensuite rooms that are available for rental on their own. The accommodation is highly prestigious and totally unique.
