This quietly situated, self-catering apartment, but only 100yds from the beach, has two large rooms, kitchen, bathroom and a balcony. The bedroom sleeps 3 with a king-size double bed and one single, or three singles, with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The day room has a large dining table and sitting area with a double bed settee. The kitchen is well-equipped with a gas cooker, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, washing machine and ample cupboard space. The bathroom has a bath with shower, washbasin, bidet and toilet. The balcony is ideal for having breakfast or enjoying an evening drink.There is heating for renting in the winter. The attractive old town is only a short walk away along the beach front. There are many restaurants and bars in the beach area and then even more in the narrow streets of the old town, which is also good for clothes and souvenir shopping.

Alghero is on the north-west coast of Sardinia and is called the Coral Riviera. It has beautiful beaches and a rugged coast and is 10 mins from Alghero airport.Alghero is a superb holiday centre with good sandy beaches on either side of the town. To the north-west is Alghero bay, with past it the glorious Porto Conte bay. The picturesque old town of Alghero has an abundant choice of restaurants and good shopping too. The most elegant old streets surround the cathedral, at the centre of the town. There is a boat trip to the enchanting caves of Nettuno near Capo Caccia. To the North-West of Alghero, towards Capo Caccia, there is plenty of opportunity for walking and mountain-biking. There is a nature reserve at Capo Caccia where you can wander and see wildlife, animals and birds, and cross to the other side of the coast and see the rugged cliffs and beautiful bluse sea. Walking tours and mountain-biking tours can be arranged, as well as scuba diving and snorkelling.

Although there are mountains in many directions this is quite a fertile part of Sardinia, with many olive groves and vineyards - the wines have an excellent reputation. This is an ideal countryside to explore - north and south along the coasts or maybe inland to Sassari, the main town of the region. It’s central piazza gives it the air of a town in Tuscany. There are some beautiful beaches and coves up the coast to the tip of the island at Stintino and the nature reserve island of Asinara. Inland you can go on a winding road to the hilltop town of Villanova Monteleone, perched precariously overlooking inland lakes. To the south, the road runs south to the quaint town of Bosa, swooping up and down like a roller-coaster for 40 kms, up on the cliffs one minute, at sea level the next, and taking you to some good beaches on the way. To the north of Alghero are the dramatic cliffs of Capo Caccia with its spectacular sea caves( 700 steps down!).
Set in a quiet location, this apartment is ideal for those wishing to be near the beach (100yds) and other facilities on holiday. It is not necessary to have a car. All the above locations can be reached by public transport and the airport, served by twice-daily Ryanair flights, is only 10 mins from Alghero. Within walking distance of the apartment are restaurants for Italian food, Chinese food and a famous pizzeria which sells pizza by the metre! There are bars, other shops and two supermarkets also within walking distance. The old town of Alghero is about 15 mins walk along the beach road where there are plenty of restaurants, bars, clubs and shops of all kinds. Set on the beach, yet only a short walk to the town the apartment is an ideal choice for those who wish to enjoy a memorable holiday without requiring a car. There are frequent buses around Alghero and to the neighbouring towns and resorts. A narrow gauge railway is close by to connect you with Sassari, the main town of the region. Rail connections then take you all over Sardinia to Cagliari and Oristano in the south and Olbia and the Costa Smeralda in the east. A steam train goes from Sassari to Tempio, a mountain spa town with an interesting market and then on to Palau in the north of the Costa Smeralda.

The distant mountains of the Gennagentu near Nuoro have some skiing facilities, from Xmas to Easter. In the mountain area there are some beautiful hilltop towns

We had a most wonderful holiday in your apartment at Alghero, everything we needed was there, it was very comfortable, the balcony ideal for relaxing out of the sun; an enjoyable place to stay and we hope to return. Alghero itself was fascinating, the Old Town drew us back time and time again to explore the old narrow streets and buildings and one evening we enjoyed a sea food speciality at a restaurant on the town walls: an experience not to be missed. The local people and the Italian holiday makers were friendly and helped us to improve our Italian - hearing real Italians in conversation helped considerably.
