Waterfront. Clean & Charming. Both bedrooms have romantic balconies overlooking the the 2 canals below and the picturesque views. Renovated spacious 2 bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen. Our charming apartment is clean, light & comfortable. Polished wood flooring throughout. Central heating. Sleeps 5. The main bedroom has a king-size bed & large built-in wardrobe. Second bedroom has 1 single bed & 1 fold away bunk bed for maximum flexibility. The living room has a sofa bed that comfortably sleeps 1 adult. Broadband, TV & radio entertainment. Beautiful antique furniture and genuine Murano chandeliers. The fully equipped kitchen seats 6 people, gas stove & oven. Washing machine. Ironing facilities. The wood paneled bathroom has shower and ample mirrors. The apartment is tucked away in the very central Canareggio area, criss-crossed by canals, facing a medieval nun cloister and a beautiful old palace. Many excellent local restaurants to choose in great 'foodie street' opposite.

Absolute waterfront ! We are surrounded by 3 canals, with lovely picturesque views from both balconies. The Rialto Bridge is only a 10 min. promenade away, Piazza San Marco only 20 min. walking distance. The Fondamente Nouve (with frequent ferries to the islands of Murano-world famous for its glass, to Burano & the Lido Beach) is 10 min. walk. Close by there’s a well supplied supermarket, a fruit & vegetable market, groceries shops, many great local restaurants, ice cream bars, local Venetian bars. The apartment is peacefully tucked away within a 1-min. walk from the Strada Nouva, the main promenade into the Rialto Bridge & to San Marco and all the best shopping & sightseeing areas. With only a 5 mins walk to the ‘Traghetto’ Gondola service & do what the local Venitians do, cross the Gran Canal to the historic fish market, in the same square you'll find a wonderful fruit & vegetables market & exceptional delicatessens. In the mornings only 2 min. walk to several delighful bakeries!

A great place to stay ...

I've been meaning to write a review after staying at the apartment in late June this year, but you arrive back at work and get stuck into it and the next thing you know you having to buy christmas presents. But i digress.

This wonderful apartment was in a great location. venice can be a busy place, so you want to be close to things but not in the middle of the rush. the apartment was a perfect size, for me and my daughter who i was showing around europe, with two bedrooms and a cosy lounge and kitchen. we cooked our dinners and prepared snacks to make our budgets go further. i wanted to spend my money on northern italian wines and cheeses, and was not disappointed.

we were near the best grocery & necessity shop in venice which is critical when you want to buy food and drink & stock up the travelling necessities. there are not a lot of the bigger grocery stores in venice so having one nearby is very convenient.

there were also lots of wonderful non-touristy bars, cafes and restaurants all around. my daughter and i quickly established our favourite morning coffee cafe, afternoon spritz cafe, fave pastries shop, and late night drinking spot, all within a few minutes. Perfect.

Venice is my type of town, no cars, lots of stunning built form, incredible stories, safe and friendly, somewhere incredibly special. Everyone deserves time in this empire city.

Venice is considered a renaissance city where the piazza san marco and Doge palace get most of the publicity, but i was completley dazzled by the contemporary art galleries - the peggy guggenheim, the grazzi palazzo, & the punta della dogana are worth the trip alone - the collections are just stunning and still affect me many months later.

So i was riding high the whole time in venice due to the attractions and atmosphere. the apartment was perfect for my needs and my daughter and i loved the whole time we were in venice, whether we were with a flow of tourists on a calli, getting lost following the views, or relaxing with a local rose and some cheese reading an Aurelio Zen novel on the balcony off my room.

Yes indeed it's not only a stunning renaissance city, with no cars, safe and friendly, a rich fallen Empire, but Venice also prides itself with some of the worlds best modern art collections at the Guggenheim and Palazzo Grassi, and now recently the Punta Dogana, not to mention the Biennale and the Venice Film Festival.

Grazie Venice and Casa Allegra

Venice and Casa Allegra provided us with a perfect setting to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The apartment is situated beautifully. The accommodations are very nice and its location just off the beaten path can't be beat. We would highly recommend this property to our friends and family. As many have already written, the booklet comes in very handy particularly if it is your first visit to Venice. We went with many of the restaurant recommendations and we were not disappointed. Renato did a great job of responding to questions before our arrival. If you like the pictures, you will like Casa Allegra! We have two additional recommendations to add. We were in pursuit of Murano glass dome lights for our kitchen. We toured Murano, checked out the shops in Murano and all around Venice and bought our lights at a little shop called Tinti Murano Glass in Campo S. Cassiano, S. Croce. The owner, Giuseppe is a nice man and was very helpful. We felt the shop offered a really nice selection glass at reasonable prices. Our favorite place to buy wine is Enoteca Mascari, S. Polo. They have tons of wine from all over Italy to check out. The staff was very friendly, patient and recommended some wonderful, reasonably priced wines.

Caro Renato, che dire! Siamo stati veramente bene. dal 7 al 13 giugno Nel cuore di Venezia. Infatti da casa ci siamo girati Venezia per lo più a piedi. Con i miei figli e mia madre di 87 anni, siamo stati dappertutto, poi tornavamo a casa e mangiavamo lì, e riuscivamo la sera. la casa è una bomboniera, e proprio bella molto pulita e i servizi ottimi! Con i miei figli fantasticavamo di venire ad abitare a Venezia, per quanto siamo stati bene. Di sicuro farò di tutto per tornarci. Grazie per l'oppurtunità, e di sicuro farò di tutto per pubblicizzare la tua casa, ne vale veramente la pena.
