Three small holiday apartments for rent all year round, in the grounds of a historical Italian villa built in the 18th century, a few kilometres from Venice. Villa Pastori is situated in the commune of Mira, on the Brenta Riviera, midway between Venice (12.5 miles / 20 km) and Padua (14 miles / 22 km), both easily reached by car or public transport. The villa has a large well-equipped garden 3000sq m with abundant outdoor furniture, sun lounges, gazebo and barbecue. Car parking is inside the property. The three apartments are the result of a careful restructuring of the farm outbuildings attached to an 18th century villa, occupied on a part-time basis by the owners. During the renovation process we tried to keep the character of an ancient Venetian villa: the original roof, with its exposed wooden beams, and the terracotta floors were preserved. The apartments are tastefully furnished, including some antique furniture.

Tiglio is a distinctive holiday apartment with a beamed ceiling and a Tuscan terracotta floor. It is situated on the ground floor and is accessed from the garden via a door under the portico. It has one bedroom with a double bed, two bedside tables and a closet, a living/dining room with cooking area and a bathroom with a shower, hair dryer. The cooking area has a four ring gas hob, a microwave oven, a fridge and a dishwasher. All the necessary for cooking is present. Bedlinen, towels and bath linen are provided at no extra costs. The living room has a double sofabed and a four seater dining table plus chair and a television, as well as some pieces of antique furniture. Air conditioning for summer and independent heating for winter allow an all-year usage. There is also the use of a common washing machine and dryer.

Villa Pastori is 500m away from the center of Mira, a village on the Brenta Riviera, midway between Venice and Padua, and it's a beautiful example of an 18th century Venetian villa, made up of a main building and two flanking buildings with porticoes (the latter are known as' Barchessa' in Italian). Villa Pastori makes an ideal holiday accommodation and starting point for trips to the numerous ancient Venetian villas in the area open to the public, all within easy cycling distance. Venice can be reached:- by car in 20 min you can reach the parking in Piazzale Roma or on the island of Tronchetto. - by bus. The bus stop is 350 m from the villa and the journey to Piazzale Roma takes 35 min. - by train. Mira/Mirano station is 3.5 km from the villa and the 20 min. train ride to Venezia S. Lucia station is a comfortable way to reach the center of Venice. - by ferry from Fusina (7 km from the villa). A wonderful 30 min trip across the Venice lagoon takes you to the heart of the city.

  • Price is per week/per apartment. 20% of rental price is requested as a deposit for booking. The balance of the rental is due upon arrival at Villa Pastori. A security deposit of 150 euros is also to be paid on arrival, to cover any damage to the property, and will be refunded on your departure, if all is in order. The rental does not include the cost of the final cleaning of the apartment (40 euros). The price includes electricity, gas, water, air-conditioning and winter heating and linen. We can arrange, at a extra charge, a midweek change of bed and bath linen and the cleaning of the apartment.

Guest Book: Ann and Alan (June '07) 'Try the ferry from Fusina to Venice - it takes you right into the thick of thing. The location couldn't be better for trips to Venice, Padua and Verona - all are reachable by short train journeys from Mira station. We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Pastori - the situation is very rural, bikes are provided if you want to cycle along the banks of the Brenta River. The bed was extremely comfortable, we were surrounded by beautiful antiques, the gardens are lovely with tables and sun loungers under the trees'- Denis

Barbara & Keith (July '07)Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our week at Villa Pastori. We found it extremely clean and very comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and we soon settled in. Please give our best wishes to everyone especially the elderly lady with the little dog Tito. We managed well in the shops even though we only knew a few words of Italian and worked out the bus times and where to get the tickets from. Tim (Sept '07) The villa has been restored very well and was comfortable and well equipped and in an attractive area which was very convenient for Venice and Padova.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Pastori the last two weeks in September 2008. We stayed in “Tiglio” one of the four tastefully restored apartments within the grounds of Villa Pastori. All apartments have been restored to a high standard and are well equipped, very clean and comfortable. There is also a pleasant outdoor space with seating area and secure car parking.

Maria our contact was very nice and helpful as was everyone we met. The Villa is within walking distance of shops, cafes and restaurants in Mira. We would recommend Villa Pastori both as a base from which to explore the Veneto and for easy access to Venice.

The boat from Fusina into Venice is a lovely way to approach the city. Chioggia, which is a Venice in miniature with some excellent fish restaurants, is also worth a special mention.
Owner's Response: IIt is a pleasure for us that Elisabeth and Mervin have recognized the efforts we spent to give our hosts the best stay in a Venetian Villa. We tried to recover the ancient spirit that push the old Venetians to spend their holidays in the surroundings of Venice, building hundreds of Villas in the triangle Venezia-Padova-Treviso. Villa near Venice on the Riviera Del Brenta,

The Villa Pastori is a charming gated Holliday Home. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a sitting area , T.V. and a sofa. The bedroom is very nice with its wall sconces and wonderful antique’s. The apartment ,Tiglio we stayed in was on the first floor. And is accessible for a person with disability. The front privet patio overlooks a one lane bridge. That was fun to sit out on and watch the cars and people go by with a nice glass of wine and some cheese. The markets are right up the street were you can buy almost anything you need. Alessandro was a wonderful host, and the main house and carriage house with its charming chapel was a nice treat. Visit the regions around the Villa from Padova ,Noventa ,Stra ,Fiesso ,Dolo ,Mira ,Oriago and Venice . The boat ride down the Riviera is great. And worth the money. A stop at The Villa Pasani the most classical of all the Villas and worth the trip. You are within driving distance , about 15 mints from the City of Venice and other regions like Murano ,Spiena , Mestre , and the seaside resort town of Chioggia. Grazie Signore Alessandro , Chebellezza!!! Magnifico!!! Splendido!!!

Jo -(November '06) 'The apartment at Villa Pastori has been wonderfully and tastefully renovated with lots of space and lovely furniture. Having all the kitchen facilities as well made it a great choice for our stay with a teenager and a baby. Its in a lovely quiet spot but only a short walk to shops and an easy bus ride into Venice. We hope to be back soon! ' Sue (October '06) ' I need to thank you for providing the child's bike it meant such a difference to the holiday - we cycled everywhere and it was excellent. The property was so beautifully converted and furnished so tastefully - everything we needed was there. Mira is a lovely place to base yourself with plenty to do without driving too far. We took the boat from Fusina to Venice. We walked every morning to the local store to buy fresh bread and cheese and in the evenings we were able to walk to a local bar or restaurant.'
