Sansovino is a self-contained apartment located on the second and third floors of a 16th Century Venetian palazzetto. It is situated in the heart of Venice's most sought after residential area, S. Marco, and is just 100 metres from the S. Angelo vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal which provides easy access to the whole of Venice. Whilst close to the main Venetian thoroughfares, the property enjoys a quiet location which provides comfort and convenience to our guests Its name derives from a ceiling in the dining room designed, it is said, by Sansovino, one of the most famous of the Venetian architects and designers responsible for many beautiful buildings in Venice. The property was completely renovated in 2002 to provide comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people and comprises approximately 220 sq. metres in total.

  • We rent in minimum periods of one week at a time as our costs of laundry and cleaning are the same however long our guests stay. Where the stay is for longer than one week our maid arranges for a change of linen and towels at a convenient time during the period.

Children need to be chaperoned as there are wide stone staircases. For security, the apartment has its own bell with speakerphone on the front wall of the property and lockable entrance doors on the ground as well as the first floor. All guests will find in the fridge a welcome pack comprising continental breakfast needs for the first day.

Apartment layout

The apartment is entered via a large stone staircase which leads to the dining room situated on the second floor. An inner hall provides access to the two large double bedrooms, the bathroom and kitchen. A further door leads to the sitting room. A second staircase accesses the third floor bedroom and en-suite shower with a large, under-roof sitting area. In all the property has 48 steps, 31 newly renovated double glazed windows, enough beams in the third floor bedroom to challenge a decent wood yard and numerous pictures, antique floors and other period features to provide a memorable stay in this beautiful city.

Other Activities Museums, glass blowing factories, shopping, theatre, a gastronomic centre and the only genuine place to enjoy a gondola ride on the Grand Canal.
