Sansovino is a self-contained apartment located on the second and third floors of a 16th Century Venetian palazzetto. It is situated in the heart of Venice's most sought after residential area, S. Marco, and is just 100 metres from the S. Angelo vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal which provides easy access to the whole of Venice.

Whilst close to the main Venetian thoroughfares, the property enjoys a quiet location which provides comfort and convenience to our guests

Its name derives from a ceiling in the dining room designed, it is said, by Sansovino, one of the most famous of the Venetian architects and designers responsible for many beautiful buildings in Venice.

The property was completely renovated in 2002 to provide comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people and comprises approximately 220 sq. metres in total.

The apartment is offered as a self-catering facility to provide excellent facilities at an affordable price.

Venice is an archipelago of 183 islands situated 7 kilometres off the North East Adriatic Coast of Italy and joined to the mainland by a causeway. Although Venice enjoys a reputation as arguably the most beautiful city in the world it is surrounded by islands in a lagoon each of which is steeped in history and tradition well worth exploring as well as specialist trades which are close at hand. Murano is famous the world over for its glass whilst Burano has its lace-making and Lido provides a beach and golf club.

Despite these attractions most tourists to the area spend the majority of their precious time exploring the calles (or streets) of Venice looking for bargains and matters of interest. Venice is full of Museums and Churches which contain fabulous works of art. To find the best of these treasures, some inexpensive tourist guides are available in many languages. Sansovino is located central to these features whilst at the same time providing a quiet haven at the end of the day

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rental rates quoted are inclusive of heating, cleaning and changes of laundry and towels.

    All rentals are required to be paid in advance of the letting in sufficient time to allow keys to be forwarded to our guests.
  • We require a security deposit of British Pounds 500 to be paid at the time of confirming the booking. This will be returned after the apartment has been checked for loss or damage, after deducting the costs of any losses or breakages caused during the stay.
  • We rent in minimum periods of one week at a time as our costs of laundry and cleaning are the same however long our guests stay. Where the stay is for longer than one week our maid arranges for a change of linen and towels at a convenient time during the period.

Notes: Children need to be chaperoned as there are wide stone staircases. For security, the apartment has its own bell with speakerphone on the front wall of the property and lockable entrance doors on the ground as well as the first floor. All guests will find in the fridge a welcome pack comprising continental breakfast needs for the first day.

Apartment layout: The apartment is entered via a large stone staircase which leads to the dining room situated on the second floor. An inner hall provides access to the two large double bedrooms, the bathroom and kitchen. A further door leads to the sitting room.

A second staircase accesses the third floor bedroom and en-suite shower.

In all the property has 48 steps, 31 newly renovated double glazed windows, enough beams in the third floor bedroom to challenge a decent wood yard and numerous pictures, antique floors and other period features to provide a memorable stay in this beautiful city.

There is a help pack of useful information which is sent out after initial enquiry which details dos and donts for the benefit of our guests.

Ski:

The Dolomites are 100 miles North of the City where there are a full range of winter sports venues and facilities.

Golf:

The nearest golf course is on the island of Lido di Venezia some 30 minutes by boat.

Lovely apartment, clean, excellent location

Excellent location, quiet street close to vaporetto, airport boat, 7 min walk to San Marco and Rialto. The apartment itself is very clean, the kitchen is well furbished and everything worked in perfect order.

Have a great stay in Venice

If you have no problems with climbing stairs this is the place to stay in Venice and share the feeling of being at home. It is central for visiting the city and well equiped so you can rest after walking all day long.

Did not think this was a 3 bedroom apartment. Very steep stairs to the 3rd bedroom which was very small with no closet. Very basic but in a good location...We stayed in 4 other villas much more luxurious that this...I know it's Venice and it's old but this was not what we expected and moved to a hotel after 3 days.. We arrived to no electricity and the milk that had been left in the refrigerator had turned to cheese. The bread was green with mold...
So many mosquitos in the apartment, we were bitten to bits. Downstairs entry full of cobwebs...Apartment was very dark and we couldn[t open the living room or master bedroom windows because of scaffolding outside. Weather was high 80's to 90's and there was 1 fan in the whole apartment! Would only recommend it for young adults that are not looking for comfortable accommodation.
Certainly wouldn't recommend it to my friends..

Palazzetto Sansovino

Absolutely perfectly positioned for a good look at Venice, in San Marco but near the calm and beautiful square of San Stefano, perfect for breakfasts and late night drinks. Very close (2 minutes with luggage) to the San Angelo vaporetto stop which conveniently is reachable directly from the airport. The place itself is lovely, but we barely spent two minutes indoors when we weren't asleep.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing
