Abruzzo holiday apartment: Torre de Passeri

This accommodation was great. It formed the base for the second week of our holiday. It has an intimate location on a hillside with an impressive panorama. Although the accommodation is small, on a holiday for 2, what more is needed than a sleeping, relaxing and cooking area. Good quality furnishings and impressive walk in shower. Property was clean and well maintained. Although Rosa does not speak English (why should she, it is us who should make the effort!!!) we managed to get ourselves understood. Our only comment regarding the kitchen was the lack of cooking and serving utensils - we opted to eat in quite a bit, to take in the views and to enjoy the Rose. Unfortunately the kitchen needs a few serving bowls, cheese grater and wooden / serving spoons. However this is just a minor issue and would not prevent us from returning.

The pool and sun terrace was a special feature, at the time we had the location to ourselves so we found it very intimate and relaxing. When the property is full I understand there could be up to 8 occupants and this could make the sun terrace appear a little packed. But each apt has table and chairs with the larger one having sun beds as well.

We used this as a base for cycling, despite starting on a climb it is a gentle one and once at the top, the little hill top villages are lovely. This area is not easy cycling in that the routes consist of rolling hills, however if you are prepared to get up early to avoid the heat, even a novice like me can get into the little gears and manage the long but gentle climbs, Would certainly recommend cycling as a way of seeing the sights. May or October may be a better time to come for cycling when it isn't as hot.

During our stay, Davide, the owner also stayed near by and he was very helpful regarding suggestions of where to go and where to eat.

We had a fantastic time and are looking back to returning, possibly in the slightly cooler months, speaking to Davide and his partner Xmas is nice as well!!!
