This beautifully restored 17th century Masseria is a unique place to relax, with woodland on one side and centuries old olive groves on the other. For bird-watching enthusiasts it is a positive haven of tranquillity to enjoy spotting the many varieties of birds visiting these warm, southern climes. The delightful town of Cisternino, situated just ten minutes from the property, recently won an award for the best kept small town in Italy. An old historic centre with winding narrow alleys and arches which pass under small, whitewashed houses leading to quiet piazzas. Balconies are decorated with a jumble of attractive terracotta pots and geraniums. At Antica Masseria there is a beautiful wood with meandering footpaths. Bikes are available at the property. There is an independent Trullo and in the main building there are three apartments. All apartments have an oven, cooking hob, fridge and a television. The apartments are furnished in a modern, country style.

The heel of Italy, Puglia stretches over 400km from north to south and is currently being proclaimed as the new Tuscany. While so very different from Tuscany the comparison is fully justified as there is just as much to see and do while the water is much cleaner, the beaches are better and the climate much hotter. We have travelled the area extensively and have fallen in love with this beautiful region and its amicable people. Puglia has it all :- splendid beaches, marvellous architecture, beautiful countryside and we believe the finest food and wine in Italy. Puglia enjoys a warm climate all year round and the best time to visit is between March and mid July and September to November. In August the temperature can soar to over 40º and rain is unusual.

  • An Italian breakfast is included in the cost of the rental. This is served in a dining room on the ground floor of the masseria. The friendly owner Gregorio will prepare cappuccino, tea or coffee and he provides fresh pastries.
    The prices in the table refer to stays from Saturday to Saturday. Price per apartment, per week inclusive of breakfast. Prices for 6 people sharing on application.
    Shorter stays can be arranged at £75 per night per couple (includes breakfast). Children under 12 years - £30 per person, per night. There is a separate charge for heating used, up to 10 euros per day.
    Cot available free of charge. Linen and towels included. Cleaning also included.
