Trullo Azzurro

If you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in a beautiful secluded setting, Trullo Azzurro is thoroughly recommended. The property has been immaculately restored and tastefully furnished, with excellent facilities throughout - very clean and well-maintained. Mary, the owner, provided both by e-mail and at the trullo a wealth of information about the property and local amenities and places of interest, to help us make the most of our stay - the local agent was equally supportive. There are a number of beautiful towns and villages to visit in the area (Ostuni and Lecce were particular highlights) and the beaches, although not exactly on the doorstep, are well worth the drive. Alternatively you can just laze around the trullo soaking up the sun and not see a soul all day, sit on the roof watching the sun go down behind the hills and have a barbecue of delicious local food under the spectacular night sky. If you visit in August there's also the added bonus of a firework display nearly every other night from one of the nearby festivals. We had a wonderful time. A car is essential - however, a note of caution : we had to trade our large hire car in for a smaller model in order to negotiate the track leading to the trullo, which is narrow in places.
