Outside fireplace, pizza oven & above ground pool. 1-acre garden with mature trees. Courtyard parking & barn space for 2 cars. 200m tree lined driveway & electric gate. Very quiet & private location on 400 acre arable farm. Near (1km) to village with bank & shops. Beautiful views of Berici & Euganei hills. Only 17km from historic Vicenza, Venice 70km, Verona 65km, Padova 30km.

Longare which is about 4km from the house is a quiet village at the foot of the Berici Hills (400 meters high) and is 13km from Vicenza city centre. The local area is perfect for hiking, mountain biking & rock climbing as well as for enjoying the local cuisine & wine tasting. The area is very quiet and rural but at the same time very central for visiting all the important touristic and cultural centres such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Lake Garda and the Dolomites.

Notes: There is a safe deposit box in the apartment . Wireless broadband is available in the apartment and we can lend you a laptop computer if needed. Upon request guests can use a telephone or fax. There are extensive tracks which start from the house & lead around the farm which are excellent for walking or cycling. The main track (6 kilometres, 4 miles) around the farm passes arable crops disused farm houses, woodland, a small lake, vineyards, a river & an 17th Century Italian Villa. The farm land around the house is completely organic. There is an above ground pool at the house for our guests and we also have a new 13.5x6 metre inground pool on the farm (at our other property 68001) which our guests are welcome to use.

PLACES TO VISIT: The historic town Vicenza is only 17km from the farm & there is a cycle track to the centre for approximately 9km. The Berici hills are only 2km from the farm, where there are many hiking & biking tracks as well as an area famous for climbing called lumignano. There are also many very good and moderately priced wineries, restaurants and trattorias up in the hills and around the area. There are many very beautiful and historic cities and towns nearby such as Bassano del Grappa, Marostica (where a life size chess game complete with horses is held every 2 years), Asolo, Montegnana, Cittadella, Castelfranco, Este and Monselice. The spa towns of Abano & Montegrotto Terme are only 25km away.

FURTHER AFIELD: Venice is 65km which is a one hour drive away, or a one hour train ride from Vicenza. Verona is 65km which is a one hour drive away, Padova 30km which is a half an hour drive away. Lake Garda is 100km way & easily accessible by motorway. Modena and the Ferrari museum is a little over an hours drive away. The Altopiano of Asiago & skiing at 2000m are only 70km away. Florence is a two & a half hour drive away.

Advice on plaves to go and things to do: Myself and my wife are always on hand to advise our guests on places to go and things to do. For example there is a great local wine cooperative where you can try and buy some great local and inexpensive wines. There is also an amazing local Parmesan factory and cheese shop as well as a great local olive oil cooperative.

First class accomodation. Loved the pets, trips to the farm to see the animals & 'free range' eggs ! Location ideal even for day trip to Milan & Bologna. Venice easily accessible as was Lake Garda & skiing on Monte Baldo. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here & definitely would like to return, especially around grape picking time. Many thanks for all the great tips on where to go for wine, cheese etc. & for your wonderful hospitality

Eine gute Lage für Ausflüge in das Umland (Vicenza, Padua, Venedig etc.). Supermarkt und Restaurants mit guter einheimischer Küche in der näheren Umgebung. Auto ist auf jeden Fall erforderlich. Liebevoll restaurierter Landsitz mit Freisitz in parkänlicher Anlage. Gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung, alles vorhanden (Küchenutensilien etc.). Bäder und Zimmer gepflegt und sehr sauber. Entspricht voll der Beschreibung. Sehr bemühte und herzliche Gastgeber. Für Romantiker und Ruhesuchende, sowie für kulturelle Interessen idealer Aufenthaltsort. Jederzeit weiter zu empfehlen.

Wir waren im July 2009 zu Gast bei Silvia und Phil im Appartment bei den Mullberries. Kurz gesagt: wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub. Das Appartment ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und komplett ausgestattet. Silvia und Phil sind stets hilfsbereite und zuvorkommende Gastgeber, die immer da sind, wenn man jemanden braucht. Sie kennen die Gegend um Vicenza perfekt und haben uns viele Tips für Ausflüge und Restaurants gegeben. Auch unsere Kindern (10J + 13J) genossen das riesige Freizeitangebot (2 Pools, Trampolin, kostenlose Fahrräder, Tischtennis, Farmtiere usw.) Das Gelände des Palazzo Rosso ist wirklich riesig.
Die Region um Vicenza hat so viel zu bieten, dass wir in zwei Wochen leider nur Bruchteile aller geplanten Aktivitäten geschafft haben. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

En breve: tuvimos unas vacaciones maravillosas. El apartamento esta amueblado con mucho gusto y no le falta nada en confort. Silvia y Phil son personas muy amables que cuando se necesitan, igual en que, hacen todo lo posible por ayudar. Conocen la región alrededor de Vicenza perfectamente y nos recomendaron muchos lugares y restaurantes que verdaderamente valen la pena visitar. También nuestros hijos (10 y 13 años) se lo pasaron muy bien. Los alrededores del Palazzo Rosso son verdaderamente enormes.
La región de Vicenza tiene tantas atracciones que en dos semanas solamente pudimos ver una parte pequeña. Estamos seguros de volver.

Absolutely perfect familiy holidays

We spent 12 great days in the house of Phil and Sylvi and felt very welcome from the first moment. Our 4 kids enjoyed the large garden and - of course - the fantastic pool at the main house.

An oasis in the Italian countryside. This location has everything.In easy reach of Vicenza(architecture),Venice(history),Lake Garda(scenery),but you can have lazy days by the pool or exploring the farm,on foot or bycicle.
Phil and Silvi do everything to make your stay memorable.Their suggestions on the best places to eat and visit are inspired.The apartments in a 400 year old barn are extremely well fitted.Congratulations on what has been achieved.We are already planning our next visit to explore Verona and Padua and to sample the restaurants we missed this time.
