Casa Carlino Apartment / house sea views of Bay of Naples near Sorrento

Casa Carlino was a good base for exploring the Sorrento Pensinsula and beyond. It was comfortable and the sun terrace was a great place to relax with great views. The information Aldo provided was really useful, down to the local shop (which was so small I wouldn't have gone in if not mentioned, but it did have all the basics), and recommendations to eat. Our favourite restaurant was ‘Il Tramonto Rosso’, which is in walking distance on the road to St. Agata; very friendly and the best Pizza I have ever eaten. As well as Herculaneum, Pompeii and Vesuvius, we went to Ravello (worth going to the Villa Cimbrone Gardens as there are stunning views), and the trip there is breathtaking - both the views and the italian driving!! I can recommend 2 walks:
1) Park in Termini and follow signs to Punta Campanella. This takes you down to the end of the peninsula. 2) Park at Capo di Sorrento and follow signs saying 'i ruderi romani'. This will take you to the Punta del Capo and the Roman Ruins of the Villa Pollio with its own beautiful inlet from the sea. An easier walk than Punta Campanella. Very many thanks Aldo. can't fault this property, had a wonderful break, ideal for using as a base for seeing the Amalfi coast, wonderful service from the Aldo the owner and his sister Anna, top tip if driving from Naples: use Aldo,s directions rather trust a uk sat nav. Heartily recommended

Dear Aldo and Deborah What a perfect holiday in a superb location ! it was everything we had hoped for and more ! we didn't want to stay in a hotel in a big city or town, preferring instead to stay in what we hoped would be accommodation where we could potentially experience a more " traditional Italian " holiday and we weren't disappointed !! We were a group of four including my 77yr old mother who loved the roof top balcony and had no problem climbing the stairs leading to the roof, she just loved it up there !! Casa Carlino is a beautiful Italian Villa, in a lovely area really clean, tidy and comfortable, and spacious enough for four adults to occupy for a week. We had everything we needed to make our holiday a very enjoyable experience, it was our first visit to this area and we would definitely make a return trip, and would highly recommend it to other holiday makers wanting to explore this part of Italy and experience an Italian way of life for a short time !. There is a little shop next door which we visited several times, the young woman who served us couldn't have been nicer, or friendlier to us !! As we dont speak Italian she was happy to provide us with some very basic Italian lessons which made us all laugh ! And even with the language barrier she still managed to make us feel very welcome, all of which added to our positive holiday experience ! When we were out and about exploring the area we stopped at the local supermarkets, and shopped at little local shops along the way, both of which had everything we needed, lovely local bread, meat, cheeses and salad vegetables, and some beautifully tasting local wine ! Everybody we met was very friendly and helpful. The view from the roof top is unbelievably beautiful what ever time of day you view it ! and when we were not out sight seeing we could be found up on the roof just drinking in the atmosphere and the local wine !! We had hired a car in Rome and driven to Casa Carlino, which wasn't as traumatic as we had been led to believe ! and the Villas owner (Aldo) had very kindly provided us with directions which really helped. During our time at the Villa we visited the town of Sorrento on several occasions during the day and at night which we loved. Lots of lovely shops to explore ! and restaurants eat at, and the harbor area is beautiful ! We also visited Pompeii a fabulous experience not to be missed !! and spent many happy hours on some lovely beaches, bars and restaurants .
