A very cozy semi-detached house in the quite village of Marittima, minutes from the small marina named Acquaviva beach. Although small, its thick walls and high ceilings make it spacious and airy. It has a pleasant living room with two sofa beds, a second large room with a double bed on an intermediate floor, an extra bed downstairs and a wardrobe, a bathroom and a kitchen. Both the living room and the bedroom are air-conditioned. Outside the kitchen there is a small patio with a table, four chairs and a barbecue. A second bathroom where the washing machine is located is accessible from the patio. A small staircase leads to the roof of the house.

The house is in the small town of Marittima, on the Adriatic coast South of Otranto. Marina di Marittima 'Acquaviva Beach', the seaside resort of Marittima, is one kilometre from the house. Parking space, a restaurant and a bar are available there. From the town a nice promenade through fields and olive groves takes you there if you like to walk. Ten minutes by car you can reach Santa Cesarea Terme, a well-known SPA centre and about 45 minutes' drive from Acaya Golf Club. This southern part of Apulia is called Salento and it is well known for its beautiful rocky and sandy seaside both on the Adriatic and the Ionian coast, the enchanting countryside and the centenary olive trees, the baroque, medieval and oriental architecture, the castles, the very tasty cuisine, the SPAs, etc. The location is ideal for sightseeing throughout the year.

Additional information about rental rates

  • RENTAL RATES are ALL INCLUSIVE (i.e. utilities, use of linen) final cleaning and laundry are charged in addition in the amount of €120,00. Payment details: 30% is paid at the time of confirmation of booking and balance 10 days prior to arrival date. For last-minute bookings, total amount should be paid upon confirmation of booking. Shorter periods can be negotiated. For periods of more than one week there is a cost of €10,00 per person for extra linen. A security deposit of €200,00 is due upon arrival and will be returned on departure unless it will be necessary to deduct the cost of any damage caused. During the winter season the cost of heating is calculated in addition.

Marittima: Marittima is a pleasant little town of Salento not far from a number of very well-known locations such as Otranto with its famous castle and cathedral, its beautiful beaches and the the two lakes Alimini 25' minutes by car; Santa Maria di Leuca, the 'finis terrae' of Apulia, with its well organized tourist port, 30' by car; Gallipoli built on a island linked to the beautiful port on the Ionian sea, with its history; Lecce with its beautiful baroque buildings. There are still a few villages where Greek is spoken, such as Kalimera, which have maintained their specific cultural links with their motherland. Throughout the year, particularly during the summer, there are festivals and traditional feasts in every town in Salento where you can enjoy the typical music, dancing and cuisine of this part of Italy where the Greek, Balkan, Oriental and Latin cultures met and melt.

Shops and services : In the main street of Marittima there is a pharmacy, an well-organized internet point that offers SKYPE telephone connection, a newspaper stand, a dry cleaning, bars and other shops. A bank is located in one of the side streets as well as the post office. A supermarket is located very close to the house. The nearest main town is Tricase which has a large hospital, banks, supermarkets, a number of shopping centres, an open-air market on Tuesdays etc.

Fifthteen amazing days in Marittima

The house was usefull, well maintained and just few minutes from the beautiful small marina of Acquaviva.
Me and my family enjoyed all the conforts that the accomodation offered.
It's a good place where you can start your Salento's exploration; Otranto (wonderful!!!) is just 20 minutes far.
The women that met us at our arrival was so lovely.
I could write many more of my holidays in Salento, but I just want to tell that if would it possible. next year I'd spend my holidays there agian

One week in Marittima

The apartment is located in the little village of Marittima, which is a perfect place to visit either the cost towards Santa Cesarea Terme/ Otranto or the cost towards Santa Maria di Leuca or Gallipoli. We found the apartment very nice, spacious and comfortable. Particularly nice and original is the bedroom. In the house you can find everything you need (full furnish kitchen, TV, washing machine, books, guides of the area, candles, etc.). Very pleasant is the little internal private court, where you can have brunch, lunch or dinner or just read a book. The landlord is very helpful and professional.
We spent a very pleasant week in this apartment. I suggest this location to spend a week or more of your holiday.

Quiet hideaway

If you want to visit a small Italian village as they used to be, this is the place!
Marittima is a small, very friendly, village in a quiet corner of Puglia, as you walk down the street you will get friendly greetings from all the residents. There is an excellent little supermarket 3 minutes walk away, and 2 bars a restaurant and some shops in the other direction.
The house is well equipped and nicely modernised, the main bedroom area was imaginatively designed and enjoyed a bbq on the little patio area at the back. The stairs to the roof were steep but not difficult for a normal person, and when there, there was always a cool breeze from the sea with a pleasant view across the roof tops.
The sea was a few minutes drive away and we never had a problem parking. The beaches are rock not sand,and I advise "swimming shoes" if you have delicate feet! On the beach area concrete has been laid in between the rocks so there are areas to lie on.
We found the owner very helpful and accommodating. We wanted to stay a few days longer than a week and that was no problem. The instructions for finding the house were good and so was the general information sheet.
If there was anything we could of wanted, it would have been a bit more information about the area, but that is a small grumble.
I would gladly recommend this property to a friend if they wanted to discover a quiet unexplored part of Italy
