Abruzzo holiday villa: Villa Bozza/ Montefino

This delightful villa ticked all the boxes for our September holiday. The owners have spared no expense in renovating the property to a high standard and the bathrooms in particular are stunning! Everything was in good condition and very clean.
The kitchen is well equipped and has many homely touches which made us feel very welcome, and not 'just another set of guests'. The bedrooms are lovely with comfortable beds, plenty of storage and fantastic huge windows that open out to reveal the stunning views - on a clear day, the snow capped mountains in the distance form a beautiful backdrop to the nearby olive groves and the church.
The garden is a good size, with a lovely pool and a huge table for al fresco dining. After requests from visitors, the owners erected a gazebo for shade in the warmer months. We were able to swim in late September and the temperature was perfect for sitting outside and also hiking and sightseeing.
There a are couple of good, authentic restaurants in the village - both reasonably priced and full of locals (always a good sign). There is also a bakery, and there is a good supermarket about a kilometre away.
There is much to do in the area - we took trips to hillside towns, spent a day at the beach, hiked a little and just enjoyed this very Italian and unspoilt area. In addition, we found the owners easy to contact and extremely friendly. They have good contacts in the village should any emergency arise, and it is clear that they love their Italian house and want to share it with others.
An excellent property for families, groups of adults, hikers, foodies and everyone else.
