A large family friendly Italian villa perched on a hillside with stunning views over the Adriatic sea. Just below the house there is a lovely secluded cove, wonderful for swimming and diving for mussels! Uchello Marino has three very spacious bedrooms, two of which open onto a large terrace overlooking the sea. Downstairs there is a wonderful kitchen with seating for 12, fully equipped with everything you will need for experimenting with Italian cuisine. There is also a lounge with double doors onto a large terrace with orange trees, again with uninterrupted views of the sea. The villa is surrounded at the back by trees and there is a lovely walk through an orchard and ancient olive groves. A mile away is San Vito marina with shops, bars restaurants and an incredible gelateria!!

In Abruzzo, overlooking the Adriatic, close to the region's many golden beaches. The villa is situated on the coastline where you find the protected Trabocchi - wooden fishing huts built on stilts. There is a lovely seafood restaurant a few minutes walk from the house and a mile away from San Vito marina. The port of Ortona and the medieval city of Lanciano are 20 minutes away, as is the stunning Benedictian Abbey of St Giovanni in Venere. There is also an open air pool and tennis courts within fifteen minutes drive, golf 40 mins,and the regions' famous water park in Vasto. The area plays host to numerous traditional festivals often involving wonderful Italian specialities and live music. Within easy reach are the Apenine mountains and the Maiella National park where there are plenty of beautiful walks, mountain bike riding, and horse riding. In the winter there is skiing at Passo Lanciano and Roccarasso. Rome is 2.5 hours away. Pescara Airport 40 minutes.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required at the time of booking. The balance should be paid six weeks prior to the start of the holiday. An additional breakage deposit of £300 is also required at the time of booking. This shall be immediately returned at the end of the booking period if no damage has occurred. Linen can be changed at end of first week stay at an additional charge of 60 euros, to be paid locally.

The resort of Passo Lanciano is less than an hours drive from the house which has very good motorway links. Top, 1891 metres, it has 2 green runs, 15 blue, 9 red and black runs offering a mix of wooded and open skiing for all abilities. Two ski schools. The larger, sophisticated resort of Roccaraso is an hour and half from the villa and holds world cup and Olympic events and has swimming, ice-skating and bowling too.

An absolutely amazing location to spend your family holiday, with the facilities being way beyond expectations. The villa is superbly equipped, the cove a brilliant spot and totally enjoyed by our two children and ourselves. I have no reservation recommending Uccello Marino as a favourite location to friends and family. Thank you for making our holiday a very special one. (Wendy and Cecil van Niekerk, Cheltenham).
An outstanding location and set up for a relaxing holiday. The house has such a traditional feel to It that you are instantly transformed into the Italian way. It is the perfect set up to enjoy this unspoiled region of the country with great food and wine. (Jack family Edinburgh)

We loved this house which was warm and welcoming and very comfortable.There are 8 of us and it was spacious , clean and well thought out so even on rainy days we had lots of room and never felt crammed in. Our 6 children played in the cove and despite the odd day of grotty weather swam every day. There was loads to do in beautiful surroundings although not much in guide books we found lots on the internet. The people in the local town were lovely and in the mountains we found easily amazing walks . I would recommend this house to anyone especially for a taste of what felt like real not tourist Italy. Unspoilt and friendly. Great
