You will soon discover the historical main villa on top of one of the hills, seemingly shielding the elegantly structured farm buildings, the beautifully restored farmhouse Villa La Contenta offered here and a wonderfully romantic 19th century garden folly reminiscent of a Palladian temple (The Temple/also in our repertoire). The estate has been in the hands of an ancient Counts's family since the 13th century, well over 700 years. Villa La Contenta is a traditional Venetian farmhouse on an historical estate, situated on the border of the Euganean hills. The house, which was fully restored in 2003, has 7 bedrooms on 3 floors (ground floor and 2 upper floors), a typical 'loggia' in front of the house for al fresco meals, and a large private pool.

Notes to the rental rates

• Rental price refers to occupancy of 12 people.
  The villa can sleep 14 people (extra house available at extra charge!)
  Bed, bath and kitchen linens, water, electricity, gas, maid service (4 hours house cleaning per day 5 days per week), final cleaning, pool cleaning service all included in the price. Should you have rented Villa La Contenta for more than 1 week, the house will be cleaned on Saturdays and the linen will be changed.
  Reservations from Saturday to Saturday only.
  Pool size: 16 x 8 m / opening dates: beginning of May - end of October.
  Baby bed and high chair available, linen is provided upon request.
  
• Security deposit, heating, air-conditioning, wood for fireplace, pool towels, telephone, additonal bed to be paid in euros on the premises:
  Security deposit: EUR 500.
  Heating, air-conditioning (if required): according to use.
  Please be aware that central heating is very expensive in Italy. The average cost for one week in winter varies from EUR 450 to 700 according to the outdoor temperature and the amount of time the heating is turned on. In the mid season the cost is accordingly lower. Air-conditioning varies from approx. EUR 60 to 150 per week.
  Wood for fireplace: EUR 10 for each basket.
  Pool towels: EUR 4 for each towel per week.
  Telephone: according to use.
  Additonal bed in the main house if maximum capacity is exceeded: EUR 20 per person and night.
  Pets allowed upon request only: EUR 105 domestic pet supplement per week.
  
• Extra services available on request (domestic help, meal on your first evening, cook, first shopping, breakfast), please specify when booking, to be paid in euros on the premises at the end of each working day:
  Extra domestic help (house cleaning, washing and ironing): EUR 10 per hour.
  Arrival dinner, after a long trip: EUR 25 per person.
  Cook for dinner during the week: A dinner can be prepared by an excellent cook (who lays the table). The cook is paid EUR 15 per hour, plus the cost of the ingredients and shopping time.
  First shopping: EUR 145 or EUR 165 * (organically grown products).
  Breakfast service: coffee, tea, milk, orange juice, mineral water, bread, butter, fresh brioche, jam, honey, musli, yoghurt EUR 8 per person; + cheese and boiled egg EUR 10 per person.

The estate

This is one of the great Venetian properties. The estate has been in the hands of an ancient Counts's family since the 13th century, well over 700 years. The 150 hectare estate consists of a Venetian villa (no picture), a 19th century English park, a skilfully designed 18 hole golf course and cultivated farmland with several farm buildings. All this 20 km south of Padua, within easy reach of the famous historic villas of the Veneto, many of them built by the great Italian architect Andrea Palladio, as also the cities of the Veneto and the Lake district.

Useful information

Culture: The immense cultural wealth and variety of Venetia is the main reason for visiting this area. Villa La Contenta's strategic position makes for many an inspiring day trip to Padova, Venice, Vicenza, Verona, Ferrara, Lake Garda as well as Este, Montagnana, Monselice and Arquà Petrarca in the immediate vicinity. The villas on the Brenta canal as well as the famous Palladio villas should also be on your cultural agenda. Ecology: Villa La Contenta was restored according to the latest standards of biological architecture. The agricultural production of the estate is organic and the owners see the estate's future in becoming a full-circle organic farm: cultivation, products, cattle, fruit trees and vegetable gardens.

Some distances

The Golf Club: 5 minutes by car from the house lies the beautiful golf club of the estate, which is considered the best in the area. The club house is a cleverly converted farm building with a very pleasant restaurant which serves excellent light lunches and full dinners. Reduced green fees for our guests. Closest shopping: The next village with a supermarket, bar, bank and post office is Montemerlo at 2.5 km from the property. More choices of shops you will find in Rovolon at a distance of 5 km. Railway station: The next railway station is in Montegrotto at a distance of approx. 10 km from the property. Here you can park your car. Trains go regularly to Venice.
