Photos and Description of this Locorotondo holiday villa 4/5 bed, 2 bathroom (3rd toilet), sleeps 8 (plus 4 on two double sofa beds)

Situated in the heart of the Itrian Valley in Puglia, Southern Italy, this stunning, secluded villa boasts a huge sun-drenched courtyard with a BBQ and pizza oven, a roof terrace, surrounding olive groves and a superb brand-new 10 metre by 5 metre swimming pool. The house is a traditional 'trulli' of the area, a multi-coned, genuinely beautiful building with fantastic views across the valley. It has been fully renovated to a high standard, with central heating, a state-of-the-art wood-burning stove, new bathrooms and kitchen, four large double bedrooms, one of which has its own additional en suite bathroom and sitting room. The courtyard has steps down to a pool (which is protected by a lockable gate and fence for child safety), with its own outdoor shower and stone-laid solarium area. 15 minutes from the beaches, 5 minutes from the historic town of Locorotondo, this trulli has been sympathetically developed by an English professional couple with children (cot and highchair provided).

Puglia is a region of wide variety, ranging from white sand beaches, to silvery-green olive groves and vineyards, from historic towns such as Lecce, the 'Florence of the South', famed for the baroque splendour of its architecture, to Norman towns such as Trani. Each of the local towns has a pedestrian, white-walled centre, with labyrinthine cobbled streets and beautiful churches. The local restaurants (one of which is only 10 minutes walk away) serve (at very reasonable prices!) superb antipasti and a wide range of dishes, from seafood fresh from the sea at the numerous seaside restaurants to fresh pasta, pizza and gorgeous regional meat and vegetarian dishes, all served with traditional Italian hospitality and the full-blooded local wine. Trulli Limone is located down a secluded quiet lane with beautiful views across the valley. It is only 3km from Locorotondo, a beautiful old town with loads of character and a fantastic wine co-operative.

Magical trullo

Muntons Hertfordshire
Review Submitted: October 12, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We spent a magical week at Trullo Limone with friends. The whole area is quiet, peaceful yet near to lively villages and the coast. Visits to Lecce and Ostuni took us back to Byzantine times and were well worth while. The trullo is very well equipped with clean, modern bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms. The terrace has sun and shade and long, lazy meals were enjoyed. The pool is a real bonus for serious exercise or for lazing, gently on a lilo. We were very well looked after and can recommend a holiday here for large or two families or a group of friends.

Apulian Paradise

I have stayed at this house five or six times now and have since bought one nearby - hope that speaks for itself! The house is so lovely, very characterful but with all mod cons, and the settings is one of the best I have seen - a very secluded little lane, a lovely view across a small valley, and a sheltered, incredibly atmospheric courtyard. The pool is blissful. Locorotondo (4km away) has several lovely restaurants and there is one a pleasant mile walk from the house, whilst the sea, beaches and lovely low key fish restaurants are a 25 minute drive away. It's a really lovely villa in a fantastic area!

Charming rural seclusion.

Review Submitted: May 6, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2008
We had the most wonderful time at the Trulli, initially making the most of the beautiful pool and surroundings to chill out completely; listening to the swallows twittering away on the phone lines and watching them dive for drinks from the pool whilst sipping an excellent "old man beer" (we think this italian beer might have been called Morelli but was generally identified by the quaffing duffer on the label). After a few days of idyllic seclusion we then ventured out. The surrounding towns are charming with wonderful suprises around corners; traditional homes; churches and markets. Food when eating out was great and cheap! There were lovely walks from the house but you do need a car to stay there. We found that the great thing was that while the Trulli maintained a really rustic feel it had every modern appliance and facility that you might need- we loved staying there and look forward to another visit soon.

From Family 4 (2 X children)

Review Submitted: June 25, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
We stayed at Trulli Limone in May 2008 and had a fantastic time. The children (+ adults) loved the pool and this was easily shut off from them, when we didn't want them to gain access. The only negative (for us anyway) would be down to the separate sleeping arrangements (some cones are not connected (apart from the courtyard)). But this would be the case in any Trulli that you stayed in and it wasn't a big deal for us as my Mother in Law stayed with us and she slept in one part with one child (2 rooms) whilst we slept in another part (also 2 rooms). That said we would stay there again and we certainly felt very safe and if you are looking at this region of Italy then you should look to stay in Trulli. The location could not be bettered, we loved the rural location and felt we were not surrounded by other tourists. The local villages and towns were a delight to visit and i would recommend a visit to the caves. Due to our flight times we didn't arrive until after 22:00 and were very grateful that the hosts had left, water, bread, pasta, pasta sauce & most importantly a local bottle of Vino. The Trulli is full of children's toys and games (also suitable for adults), lots of DVD'd (if you want to wash them), enough plates, glass' etc to ensure your not washing up (or loading the dishwasher) after each meal. The roof is accessible via some external stairs and i would recommend the view from their (would be a good place for a drink / nibbles). The Welcome pack is full of useful information regarding where to eat, shop etc. In summary it was a perfect rural getaway and a very relaxing break. May was a lovely time of year to go and the weather during the day was perfectly warn enough and the evenings nice a cool (easier to sleep).
Looking forward to next year!!!!!
