Masseria Mosca's Pool and Gardens:
Our clients return year after year to relax in the idyllic and unique surroundings of the Masseria Mosca. The 2 hectares of privately walled grounds include a striking blend of palms, giant cacti, citrus trees, vines, almond and fig trees and aromatic herbs flanked by extensive lush green lawns. The magnificent 12x12m pool is framed by rosemary bushes and the vibrant pink of the bougainvillea over its gazebo. You couldn't imagine a more sensuous setting in which to unwind. Children are in heaven here too! There is a large barbecue area and a shaded parking area hidden from view. Our secret is daily maintenance of the pool and gardens by our loyal gardener and caretaker who also ensures your every comfort.
Gallipoli :
Just 7km away, you'll love the ancient peninsula town of Gallipoli (Ancient Greek for 'Beautiful City'!). It has the oldest remaining Greek fountain in Italy. By day it's an unspoilt working fishing town. Yet, famed for its sophisticated nightlife, Gallipoli is a hot spot for Italy's smart set who want to holiday incognito. You can haggle for the day's catch of fish in the market, watch the sunset with a cocktail in the chic lounge bars or just wander the narrow streets bustling with village life and peek into their secret baroque courtyards and tiny fishermens' chapels.
The Salento :
The Salento is a landscape of rich red earth, silver-green olive grees and turquoise sea situated right down in the “heel of the boot” of Italy where the Adriatic meets the Ionian. It's the part of Puglia that foreign tourism hasn't quite reached. But the Italians love it for its unspoilt coastline and exotic folklore. The Salento's colourful history of invaders and pirates is visible in its monuments - Saracen watchtowers, Spanish castles, neolithic remains and villages lost in time where an Ancient Greek dialect is still spoken. And it's the land of the 'pizzica': a heady song and dance festival that dates back to early possession rituals for the 'tarante': women bit by a legendary spider!
