Built on the side of a hill, the 120 year old Trullo Mandorla has been extensively renovated to sympathetically combine the unique features of the original stone building with contemporary design. The stylish and sophisticated interior ensures your stay is pampered. The beautiful restored stone, exquisite lighting, and luxurious bathrooms create a unique stay in a trullo. The trullo has 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 6, with 2 bathrooms, one of which is en suite. Staying at Trullo Mandorla means enjoying spacious and diverse external areas. This includes an external lounge which makes the most of the fantastic view of the sea and coastal plain and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. On the olive terrace above the house the kidney shaped pool enjoys panoramic views. Trullo Mandorla is situated 5 minutes drive from the sea and a few minutes from the nearby town of Fasano. It is in an excellent location for visiting the towns of Ostuni, Alberobello, and Cisternino.

Trullo Mandorla is ideally located for those who wish to enjoy the nearby sandy beaches and explore the undiscovered countryside of Puglia and the Valle d'Itria. It is situated 5 minutes drive from the sea and a few minutes from the nearby town of Fasano. It is in an excellent location for visiting the nearby towns of Ostuni, Alberobello 'the capital of the trullis', Martina Franca, Locorotondo, and Cisternino. It is less than an hour to the beautiful baroque town of Lecce and within easy access of both Bari and Brindisi airport.

  • The luxurious bathroom was once the old bread oven. Now, it is transformed by the enormous mosaic bath with large shower head and large round basin on a marble top. The place to be pampered. The ensuite wet room with glass screen is beautifully designed around the original barrel vaulted stone ceiling.

  • In each of the bedrooms, the beds are positioned beneath the trullo cones to marvel at their construction and admire the beautiful hand carved stone. Beautiful lighting in old recesses provide bedside lighting at night. The beds and pillows themselves have been chosen specifically for their comfort, to ensure a luxurious nights sleep.

Notes: Trullo Mandorla is built on the side of a hill and originally was an olive farm. This means the land has been terraced for the olives to be farmed on. There are many steep drops where the land is terraced which means that whilst children are welcome it is at your own risk. It is not recommended for younger children.

We rented out Trullo Mandorla for the second week of our honeymoon and we were not disappointed. The trullo has been restored to a very high standard and features all the requisite mod cons whilst also retaining an authentic feel. The trullo is set in the perfect location to explore Puglia. Surrounded by olive groves and sea views a plenty, many a day can easily slide away enjoying the outside lounge and BBQ area. There are many fine restaurants in the area, one comes with a Michelin star and of course there is always the option to go and buy fish straight from the fisherman in a nearby town and use the trullo's outside kitchen to cook it later. Great trullo, beautiful location and a lot of opportunities to eat like a king.

A week's stay for a family with 3 teenage children

We had a fantastic week in this beautiful villa, which has been very sensitively restored and really well thought through. The location is superb - set high enough to provide wonderful views across the olive groves of the plains to the sea, and yet close enough to the coast for easy access to the beach.

We particularly enjoyed the external areas of the villa, and the way that these areas had been laid out to provide different views and experiences. Individually they have all been very thoughtfully designed and we used them all. I loved swinging in the hammock in the olive grove by the pool, enjoying the views of the garden and the aroma of thyme from the outdoor dining area and sitting soft in the outdoor lounge area surrounded by the conical trulli roofs. We had several barbeques in the outdoor kitchen and ate outside every day.

Our favourite beach was in the nature reserve of Torre Guaceto, and while staying at the villa we also visited the spectacular caves of Castellana Grotto and enjoyed the passegiata in Ostuni, Alberebello, and Polignano a Mare (spectacular). We would very much like to return to Trullo Mandorla. The property is stunning and we loved Puglia.

Holiday with relatives at Trullo Mandorla.

Five adults stayed at the above property ages from 65 to 75 and found it to be perfect for a relaxing holiday. Lovely pool, very quiet picturesque location every facility we required to hand. The property was very clean and no problems were encountered.The description was accurate, Fasarno was nearby with all the shops you require for food and there was a big supermarket just 15 minutes away. A welcome pack of food and drink was provided and the property hand book gave you all the information required,including the phone number of English speaking contacts should you need them.Good weather enabled us to BBQ every night and use the dining area to full avantage the view from which was stunning. There were many places to visit within half hours driving and it was always a delight to come back to the property with its very attractive colourful gardens. We would recommend this to friends without hesitation and would go again. There were firework displays in the distance some nights which was a bonus. The beaches were within easy reach and you could choose tiny coves or large marina with umbrellas and loungers.
