Casa Chia overlooks an immense vista of mountains, a river a lagoon with Flamingos and, of course, the sea with breathtaking white sand dunes and pure white beaches with the clearest sea in the Mediterranean. Chia lies south west of Sardinia just 50 minutes drive from the island’s capital Caligari where Ryanair, Easyjet and British Airway fly. Casa Chia is a haven for peace, tranquillity, and privacy. An immense sky above, the Mediterranean macchia all around and, in front of you, as far as the eye can see the plain with the lagoon the flamingos and the beach. Designed by famous local architects. It has 3 double en-suite bedrooms, air conditioning for winter and summer, large living space and kitchen seamlessly joining to the terraces with its private infinity pool with beautiful views overlooking mountains, lagoon and sea. The Sunday Times wrote this year 'Chia is Mediterranean's answer to the Caribbean. Chia is simply stunning. The softest pinkish white sand and beautiful beaches.

Artical from the Sunday Times Travel Section in January 2007 about CHIA, SARDINIA 'As you drive west from Cagliari, the beaches just get better and better. Cruise past the famous Forte Village resort (nice, but the sand is not world-class) and follow the signposts to Chia, where you’ll find several stretches of soft sand, with pine trees, rolling dunes and some of the clearest seas in the Mediterranean'. Five minutes walk from shops, restaurants and beaches. Restaurants are numerous and local events happen all through the summer months. Sailing, diving, windsurfing, horse riding, walking and cycle hire are all local. Cagliari the capital is 40 minutes drive away. 15 minutes drive from Nora the magical drowned Phoenician city to which Sardinia owes its name. Many other archaeological sites are scattered around the area.

Travel: Three airlines fly direct to Cagliari from the UK. Easyjet flies from Luton. Ryanair from Bristol, Edinburgh and Manchester. British Airways from Gatwick. Cagliari (the Islands capital) is 45 minutes drive to Chia. During the summer months many charter flights can be booked. Italy mainland is also the place to fly indirectly or if you like using the car you can use an overnight ferry from Toulon, Marseille and Nice from France and many other ports from Italy for a shorter crossing. If you require any advice/help, let us know. Ryanair also flies from Stansted to Alghero which is in the North of the island and three hours drive to Chia.

Outside, Facilities and surrounding area: The pool is an infinity pool where the water cascades off to one side. Built in Barbecue with several terraces and pagolas for shade. Sun lounges, teak table and chairs for outside dining. The garden is planted with native plants to blend in with the natural landscape. The detached villa is designed to blend in with the countryside. Built in 2005 it has the latest environmental equipment with some of the roofs planted with small shrubs. It has automatic irrigation and outside night lighting. The house and gardens are maintained throughout the year and the pool cleaned weekly during the holiday season.

Coast/beaches: Sardinia is famous for its beaches and Chia has the best in the Mediterranean (some say the world). Several miles of unspoilt white sand beaches, dunes and the vibrant blue sea (you can see some of them from the terrace). They are just 10 minutes stroll away.

Golf: There are several golf courses available. Is Molas Golf course is 15 minutes drive away with 18 and 9 hole courses.

A great holiday experience. The entire family fell in love with the area, the beaches, the food and with the Italians!

The villa was wonderfully located, with beautiful gardens and nicely isolated. It was a relief to have the efficient air conditioning in every room. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen nicely equipped. The hotel agents went out of their way to accommodate us due to our rather early arrival

We had an absolutely fabulous time - it was heaven - and are really sad to be back in grey old London!
