This modern two storey villa with external staircase is set in its own grounds and is not overlooked ensuring a peaceful and relaxing stay. The villa is set on the outskirts of Magomadas down a short unmade road. The property is only a 5 min drive from the nearest beach and enjoys the added luxury of its own pool. There are various patios with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside together with sea views. The villa is set in its own grounds with various fruit trees and there is no lack of space. There is a cot and high chair and patio furniture as the owners have tried to cater for every need. There are two kitchens fully equipped.

The property is in Magomadas which is a small hillside village 10 minutes from the historic town of Bosa. Bosa is set on the banks of the River Temo, the only navigable river in Sardinia; its origins go back to Phoenician times. The old historical town centre spreads up the side of the hill away from the river and is topped by the Malaspina Castle. The walk up through the cobbled street leading up to the castle is well worth the effort. The views from here encompass the whole of Bosa & Bosa Marina, the river to the sea. Bosa has many pavement bars and cafes, as well as shops and museums, churches and a cathedral. It is possible to buy many examples of local traditional crafts. Not a 5-minute drive from Bosa is the seaside resort of Bosa Marina. The main attraction here is the long, wide strip of gently shelving beach leading into crystal clear water. Here, not only will you find a variety of beach bars, restaurants and shops but also there are facilities for many water sports.

Villa Il Sogno

This property is fantastic for two families to share; giving two completely self contained apartments with large, airy, comfortable rooms. The property is even better than described on the website with great facilities and fantastic views set in a completely private spot on the hillside. The games room is an extra bonus that went down really well with the children and the pool and poolside facilities make days at the villa thoroughly enjoyable. The BBQ by the pool is the biggest we'd ever seen and we made good use of it. The owners were extremely helpful and ready on the phone on the couple of occasions that we had queries. The track leading to the villa is rough but the privacy and position of the villa make this worth while and there is a lovely orchard with the property from which we picked our own fruit.

The local beaches were good but it is well worth travelling to the quartz beaches near Oristano and Neptune's Grotto past Alghero is lovely although Alghero is not easy to navigate around but the drive to Alghero is breathtaking! The one restaurant in Magomadas looked lovely and was so booked in advance that we didn't get to go there; so book early.

Sardinian Paradise

DO NOT be deceived by the pictures on the website...... they simply do not do this property justice!!!! When we first arrived, we did struggle to find the property and although we could catch glimpses from the road, we couldn't actually get to it and ended up with lots of locals on mopeds leading us round!! Eventually we arrived but a small piece of advice... make sure your hire care has enough power to make it up the steep driveway, ours didn't!!!

The property and grounds quite literally blew us away, it is the most wonderful place we have ever stayed. The facilities are exceptional and were fully utilised throughout our stay. The largest of the 2 bbq's is enormous and you feel as if you are cooking in Lilliput... The pool is great, as is the gamesroom. The beds are comfy as are the sofas in the lounge which were used now and again for catching up with the latests olympics news on the TV.

We did lots of self-catering as eating out was very expensive (unless you all had pizzas which were lovely and good value) and found the cooking facilities to be very excellent with utensils for everything.

The local beaches are very good but we did make the effort on several occasions to travel both ways for over an hour, south the quartz beaches are stunning and well worth the journey. Neptunes cave is an absolute must but we are quite easily pleased really and our 4 children enjoyed themselves with little additional entertainment (ages 12 and 14).

The sunset from the villa each evening was so beautiful and has provided us with the most stunning holiday photos ever. Watching our last sunset was positvely painful. Picking fresh fruit each day from the garden was such a special treat.

This holiday villa offered us everything we were dreaming of, and lived up to it's name of Villa Il Sogno (Villa of Dreams). All we want is peace and quiet, lovely beaches, a bbq and lovely company, what more could a family wish for.

Ticking the boxes for recommended holiday-seekers was not easy as we believe that you can find everything on this list with a bit of effort and a car. The steep garden and driveway would, in our opinion, exclude someone with mobility issues and possibly very young children. However, any other families/couples, would be more than happy staying here.

We will certainly return as soon as we possibly can. Thank you so much.
