Kercem lies to the southwest of the island very close to Victoria. The name Kercem might be the name or nickname of a family that once inhabited the area. The village feasts are celebrated during the first week of July and during the second week of March respectively. In Kercem there is one of the island's most beautiful spots, namely, the Lunzjata valley, a protected natural reserve.In the village one also finds various mini-markets and a police station.
