Gozo was first described by Homer in the Odyssey as the island “where even an immortal would pause to gaze in wonder and delight”. Xlendi by day and night is magical and the Azure window and the Fungus Rock in Dwejra Bay are unique.
Gozo is ideal for lovely country walks especially in Spring and enjoys warm summers and mild winters with little rainfall. It is an island that has stopped in time, historically rich, enjoys traditions, folklore & fiestas, and has a natural Mediterranean charm with fresh Mediterranean fish and cuisine. Beaches and bays include the secluded sandy beach of San Blas, Ramla, Mgarr Xini, Xlendi, Dwejra - not to mention the fantastic Blue Lagoon in the Island of Comino.
Diving- There are fantastic arches, tunnels, wrecks, caves and lagoons to explore and the underwater landscape is as varied as the coastal scenery. The author Edward Lear wrote that “no words may truly describe Gozo’s coastal magnificence”. This is owed to the magnificence of Gozo’s waters, cliffs, coves. Gullies and beaches which are beautiful all year round. It is recommended to charter a private speed boat or sailing boat for the day or to take a round trip of the Island with a group.
