Essaouira holiday apartment: Essaouira

We booked this place for 10 days on the understanding that this was a lovely spacious "villa" with a beautiful private roof top. We were charged a great deal of money.

We left after four horrible nights of which three we had to sleep in the "living room" as the smell from the sewage pipes in the "bedroom" was too overwhelming.

The place is small, smelly, the furniture is cheap, the mattress on the only bed is old, sagged, and stained.

The coffee maker in the "kitchen" did not work – most likely because it was the home to several nest of cock roaches.

Cats use the "courtyard" to defecate in.

We returned after five nights away and out of necessity stayed a few more nights. We spent our time away from the place as much as possible.

The “private roof top” was also covered in cat vomit and waste, seagulls were constantly leaving their mark as well. The stairs leading up to the roof top is actually a ladder, so eating up there was next to impossible.

We contacted the owner with details about our disappointment he put in writing that he would refund us - to this day he has not... He no longer responds to my emails.

I will supply pictures and further proof of what we went trhough.

The only thing that saddens me about writing this review is this will affect the livelihood of the house keeper.
