Private terraced, ground floor apartment in Essaouira's Medina

This very private, ground floor small house with its own terrace, makes this a very unusual property in the heart of the Medina. Ideally located for kiteboarders and windsurfers. Traditionally tiled throughout, you enter off a narrow street into a hall, off which is the toilet and shower room. Then, into the covered courtyard around which are all the rooms and the stairs to the terrace-the courtyard can be used as a dining area. There is a kitchen, a double bedroom and a large salon. The double bedroom also has seating and a table. The living/dining room is large with Moroccan cushioned sofa beds and a table for eating at in the Moroccan way. Electric heating available in the winter. Everything such as shops, cafés, the beach and harbour on the door step or 5 minutes walk away. Internet cafe very short walk from the apartment. Essaouira, an ideal location for all year round sun and sea, is due west of Marrakech on the coast. It is easily reached by frequent and affordable bus or taxis from the airports of Marrakech, Agadir and Essaouira. The town is on a sandy bay protected from the ocean by islands-tuition for surfing, windsurfing, kite boarding . Burr Thuja woodwork is made here-please buy some-it is strictly controlled by the government. The fortified Medina has towers, battlements and cannons which at sunset with the roar of crashing waves against the walls is something to behold-wonderful place for photography. Arriving, you find the atmosphere laid back and friendly-the winds blow the pleasant smells of Thuja wood and BBQ fish-you hear chatter in Arabic and Berber and music of all sorts-your eyes will be dazzled and delighted by wonderful fabrics, rugs, displays of piled high oranges, spices and irresistible patisseries.
