We had a great week in Marrakech. The apartment was clean and well equipped. We were met at the airport by Jamila & Moulay (French speaking - no English spoken) who were both very fiendly and helpful. The complimentary meal (Lamb Tagine) was excellent. The free WiFi was also a bonus.
Our biggest disappointment was that the apartment description was not correct and somewhat misleading and I would ask the owners to correct this.
There was only one bedroom, not two as described and the maid service was only once during the week, not daily as described. The swimming pool (pictured) was in a nearby hotel and cost a rather expensive 100 Dirhams (£8)per person per day. The walk to the Djema el Fnaa took rather longer than the described 15 mins. - it was more like a 40 mins. walk!
Overall the holiday was a great experience and contact with the owners regarding payment etc. was no problem.
Owner's Response: We are please that this holidaymaker is really enjoyed in regards his stay in our very nice and clean apartment. However we are surprised in regards the second part of this review and we would like to answer some words even if our English is perfectible (We are French) :
1. We confirm that the maid is a daily maid except Sunday. We precise that the renter refused a daily maid : He required only 2 times during the week, not more. It is difficult to force people to accept a daily maid if they do not want this.
2. Regarding the swimming pool : In our advert, it is mentioned that the pool is a paying access. We have proposed 2 other pools close the apartment to the renter : A first swimming pool more modest for £ 3,50 per day and a second pool with free access. The renter refused this 2 others pools because they was not so clean calm and quiet than the private pool showed in the photo : Unfortunately in Morocco, the complex pools, which are meant to be hygienic and clean, generally aren’t and also you get bothered by local men who pester women. In the private pools, this doesn’t happen so it’s also a safer option. We let know that we own another apartment in a very new complex with a swimming pool inside; however we do not use it. We prefer use private pools with payable access.
3. Regarding the time to go to Jemaa el Fna square. In our advert we say that it is 15 minutes but not 15 mins.walk. Any modern apartment do not exists within 15 min. walk because the modern buildings are not authorized in this distance : It is a World patrimony of Unesco. The nearest modern buildings are 25 min. time and our property is 30min walk (not 40 min). Also we confirm the maximal time of 15 min. by taxi if there is traffic (cost approx.£ 1,50). Also we precise that it takes 10 min. walk just to cross the square by walk!
4. Finally, we would like publish the feed back sent by this holidaymaker via email the 05 July (1 day after the end of the stay)

also for the services of Jamila and Moulay, who are both very nice people and were very helpful.
When we were unpacking our luggage earlier, we found a cable which doesn't belong to us. I
think it may be the cable to charge the mobile phone which you provided. I am sorry, we must
have packed it by mistake. I will return it to the apartment by post. Apologies for any inconvenience.
