The riad is situated in the northern part of the medina Marrakech. Marrakech is about 30km from the Lower Atlas and about 200km from the Atlantic coast. Both being easily accessible by car, bus or taxi. Trips to the local countryside, Ourike Valley or further to the beaches of Essaouira or a couple of days in desert can be organized by Aziz at the house. Aziz will also arrange travel to the local golf courses or if you wish to have a few hours and lunch with a swim at La Plage Rouge or the Club Med in the Palmeraie.

This is entirely at your discretion. A cot can be made available

Notes:

Towels and bathrobes are provided and left in your room. There is a white laundry bag in each room and please give this to Aziza. Larger items may be sent to the local pressing. A house mobile phone is available and you can buy a phone card at the teleboutique next door. Very useful for making restaurant bookings and keeping in touch with the house.

Staff

Aziza looks after the house throughout the year.She is a skilled cook offering a choice of both local and European cuisine. Lunch is 100dh per head and dinner 150dh excluding wine that can be purchased by arrangement. Children under 16 50 dh and 100 dh .Meals are served at table on the terrace or in the dining room, and you can discuss the menu with her. Aziza speaks good French and is learning English. Mybrck, the houseman, is on hand to help Aziza with the cleaning and run errands. Aziza will take ladies to the local Hammam - an experience in itself! A local masseuse can be arranged to come to the house.

What to do

Abdou who picks you up from the airport, has good English and French . There is a house mobile phone that is available and phone cards are arranged. This cuts down the cost of local phoning for restaurants etc and Aziza is always available if there is an emergency! Aziza will also arrange trips with Abdou to the mountains or around the city including a trip to stock up on wine! Time out Guide to Marrakech is recommended and I have a list of recommended restaurants and places to see and things to do.

Golf Information:

There are 4 golf courses within easy reach the closest and the oldest being the Royal Golf Club and this is the preferred one being considered the best value with a decent restaurant and terrace bar. There is a new set of Wilson RT handed clubs at the riad that can be used by guests and other sets can be hired at the club house. A round is approx £20 with £5 for obligatory caddy. The best of holiday golf in a very pretty setting.A days riding in the hills can be arranged .
