Right in the heart of the medina

Date of Stay: March 2008
We spent 10 days here in March and enjoyed our stay. There were just the two of us and it was nice to have the space to ourselves.
The house is very well positioned for getting around town and near lots of nice restaurants as well as the souk.
The decor was nice and light, with some interesting pieces. We struggled to find a comfortable chair to read in - nothing quite worked for either of us.
The fireplace was a bit erratic and we often had to flee the sitting room because of the smoke.
Bedrooms and bathrooms not big but enough for our needs. Not sure of the loo roll etiquette - we seemed to go through a lot and ended up buying it ourselves as so little was put out for us!
Ground floor loo seems to have a bit of an odour problem, bit the others were fine. Plenty of hot water for showers but somehow not for the bath.
We had to ask to have laundry done rather than being able to do it ourselves, which was not so convenient.
It was very windy and quite cold much of the time so we went through a vast supply of firewood and had to have more delivered which Fouad did very willingly. he also came out one night when we had a power cut and sorted things out. Sadir, the maid, was lovely and cooked tagine for us a couple of times.
Due to lack of baggage allowance, we didn't have enough books with us so made use of the mini library and left our books behind to join it.
All in all we had a lovely stay and would go again one day.
