Ortnevik is on the south side of the Sognefjord, on the west coast of Norway. Most visitors start their holiday in Bergen, gateway to the fjords which is 2.5 hours drive away. Bergen Harbour is a World Heritage Site, in addition to this Bergen offers many other tourist attractions. Ortnevik offers sheltered family swimming in the bay for those with young children. In addition to this there is swimming in the fjord, a rowing boat, wind surfing, fishing and whale watching. Lying next to the Stølsheimen National Park there are walking trails for all abilities. Walking routes to Solrenningane start here in Ortnevik. There is a car ferry to Vik to the Stave Church, and on to the Flåm fjord, Flåm railway and glacier for day trips. Other possible day trips include the Salmon Museum at Lærdal and the Glacier Museum at Fjærland,
