Salvator Penthouse boasts a 45 m square sun terrace, with a table and garden chairs for 4, with panoramic views of the famous Kosciuszko Mound, the man-made hill and well known tourist attraction, as well as a view of the Blonia Common, directly below - the large open space in the centre of Krakow, where John Paul II held his mass. In front of the building, there is the little river Rudawa, a favourite with cyclists and joggers, where there is barely any car traffic; hence, the terrace provides a perfect peaceful place to relax under the stars after the excitements of the day. A table and 4 chairs provided. Salvator Penthouse has an exceptionally high standard of finish, with solid oak wooden floors and kitchen units, a red granite worktop in the kitchen and stylish decor and furnishings.

The famous man-made hill, Kopiec and its fortifications, which can be seen from the bedroom's window, is a short walk along an avenue of ancient chestnuts. Nearby, you can hire rowing boats in the season, or take a river boat trip past the imposing Bielany Monastery to the Tyniec Abbey, on its rock overlooking the river Vistula. It is an hour's country walk to the Zoo, or, through the wooded hills, to the Bielany Monastery, where women are not allowed to enter, so as not to distract the monks. A 15 min tram ride will take you to the Jewish quarter, Kazimierz. In 'Schindler's List' Spielberg showed the tragic fate of the Jews who once lived here. But now, Kazimierz is once more a thriving area, with authentic restaurants and live Klezmer music. Directly outside lies the open space famous for the mass given there by John Paul II, and together with the Kosciuszki Mound, it provides a lovely panoramic view from the terrace.

  • Prices are for the apartment for a week, up to 4 people.

    For longer lets, the price can be negotiated individually.

    Price per night: £55 per night in the high season (Easter, June - October). Minimum stay 3 nights.
  • 50% non-returnable deposit secures the booking, with the balance payable a month before departure. Where the departure is in less than a month, the whole balance is due at the time of the booking. On arrival, we ask for a returnable £30 lost keys/breakages deposit, which is returned at the time of checking out.

Within 1/2hr drive, there is the Krakow Valley 18-hole golf course, with riding stables (lessons for beginners), a shooting range, and ski lifts in the winter. It is also possible to hire horses for cross country riding. A perfect spring/summer day trip is the Dunajec Gorge rafting, through the breathtaking rocky scenery, gentle enough even for the grandmothers and babies (local highlanders do the rafting - you sit back and relax), and a day trip to the medieval Ojcow Castle perched high on a rock with its museum and restaurant, is also a must, as is the surrounding National Park full of weird lime rock formations. Krakow is situated some 100km from the Tatra Mountains, and a day trip should not be missed during a week's stay. Zakopane, 2 hours away by coach, is a bustling ski resort. For those visiting in the summer, the nearby beach by the Kryspinow lake (10km) may prove worth a visits, and, during all times, the Waterpark is fun for all age groups.

The spectacular Wieliczka Salt Mine and the Auschwitz Concentration Camp can be visited as day trips.

This apartment had everything my family needed. It was a 6 minute walk to a supermarket and off licence and in the other direction we had the Any Time Restuarant which provided food of a high standard as both snacks and evening meals.
The walk to the castle was exceptional due to the views from the river.
We never used the trams instead we preferred the walks into Market Square.
The balcony was ideal to rewind after a day of sightseeing with a cold beer. I have recommended this to my friends as a great place to stay while visiting a wonderfull city.
