This apartment in a building with elevator offers the rare combination of space and elegance a stone's throw away from the magnificent Central Market Square, at affordable prices. Beautifully furnished in a contemporary style, your apartment was completely renovated in 2007. We have, of course, preserved the 19th century wood floors throughout and 3 meters tall ceilings. The living room has two comfortable couches, which may be converted in additional sleeping space for up to three more guests. There is cable TV of course, as well as a CD/DVD player. All throughout the apartment you have free and unlimited access to high-speed WiFi internet access. A fully-equipped kitchen awaits you, including a kitchen island with breakfast bar, and a dining table that easily seats 8 people. Your apartment has two bedrooms, both of them away from the street: the master bedroom has one double bed, and the second bedroom has two single beds. The bathroom includes a clothes washer and heated towel rack.

Krakow (Cracow, Krakau, Cracovie, Cracovia) is the best-preserved city in Poland, the former capital and seat of the Polish kings. This is where the Royal Castle of Wawel is located, as is the medieval Cloth Hall (Sukiennice). Krakow boasts churches from every period since the Middle Ages - Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, as well as opera halls, museums, and other cultural venues, including a centuries-year old university. A visit to the nearby former concentration camp of Auschwitz is an unforgettable experience, as is a visit to the former Jewish district of Kasimierz. The late Pope John Paul II hailed from Krakow as well, and the airport of Krakow-Balice is named after him. Zakopane in the Carpathian Mountains is a short trip away, which makes Krakow an excellent starting point or finale for a ski trip in winter, or a hiking excursion in summer. Krakow boasts a large number of excellent restaurants for all budgets and tastes, from regional Polish cuisine to international flavors.

A nice touch is the towel heating rack, which keeps your towels and other textiles nice and heated. A full-length mirror surrounded by halogen lights completes the picture.

  • Bedroom has two large and tall windows which bring in ample sunshine during the day. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, and leaves ample room for those who wish to set up a crib, which we will be happy to provide at no cost. The second bedroom has two single beds, as well as a small balcony which provides a view of the courtyard. The living room boasts two extra large sofas, which easily convert into sleeping space for two or three extra persons. All beds have brand-new mattresses. We provide high-thread count cotton bedlinen, and double comforters/quilts which may be separated for when the temperatures rise. Both bedrooms also have wardrobes of course, and ample space to store your suitcases/bags and yet be able to move around very comfortably.

We stayed in Caspar's apartment in March 2008 for about 5 days. Caspar was an excellent person to deal with giving a detailed outline of what the apartment comprised of and contained, then offering advice on trips and checking with us that we had encountered no problems throughout our stay. He genuinely sought our feedback and ideas to improve on what he was offering but how can you improve on the perfect city apartment, which was a home away from home?
We took the opportunity to visit the Salt Mines and Auschwitz whilst we were in Krakow, both were very worthwhile and in different ways.
Should we decide to return to Krakow next year I would have no hesitation about where to stay.
