The House of Storks

I have just returned home to rainy, cloudy Manchester after a lovely week at The House of Storks. What a beautiful house! Spacious, exquisitely clean, well-cared for, well-equipped and in a beautiful location - Bojano, very close to Gdansk. It was a delight to laze in the huge garden or eat breakfast at the table outside watching and listening to the birds; we even heard a cuckoo. Deer crossed the path near the house and storks nested nearby. Some mornings we would see the baby stork poking its head out of its nest. Bojano is good for interesting walks and cycle rides - the area is very flat. The meals we ate, mainly in Gydinia, were excellent. Gdansk is an intersting city - the shipyards and the quaint streets. It was also incredibly easy to park! My favourite place was Sopot - glamour from yesteryear! One occasion we heard piano playing from one of the villas, some displaying a faded glamour, and it felt as though we had stepped back into the early 19th century. Slowinsky National Park, although quite a drive, is an unusual phenomenon, but what a chill wind. I regret not visitng the Hel peninsular. But the roads and the drivers were a little scary! Mirka and Krys who look after the house were very friendly, helpful and amenable. They are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful location. Poland and The House of Storks surpassed my expectations and I would love to return. It was one of the best holidays I have had. I will be recommending Poland and the House of Storks to all my friends and family.
