Casa Escondida is a perfect home from home for both summer and winter holidays. The house sleeps four people in one double and one twin bedroom and there is a cot and high chair available for a toddler. There are various places to relax including the covered terrace overlooking the pool with its sofa and two armchairs and a shadier terrace behind the house for the hottest summer months where there are two sofas, a table and chairs and a gas barbecue. By the pool is a tiled dining table and chairs and four sun loungers. The large pool is sanitised using a saltwater system (no sore eyes and green hair from excessive use of chlorine) and for extra exercise there is a full size badminton court which can be used for paddle tennis and other games(badminton sets provided) Phone and e mail facilities are available at owners house close by. When you arrive a generous complimentary welcome pack will get you started until you have time to get to the shops.For a brochure please contact the owner

Nearest Train: Faro at 12 Kilometres

The house stands in olive and almond orchards within walking distance of the charming village of Estoi with views to the distant sea and islands. Estoi has a number of attractions including the Palace of the Condes de Estoi and the Roman ruins of Milreu. There are some very good restaurants or 'tascas´ serving simple Portuguese food at very reasonable prices. There is a local supermarket and a very helpful chemists whose pharmacist speaks excellent English. The beaches and golf courses are half an hour away and Lisbon or Seville can be reached in two hours. A quiet location but within easy reach of Algarve's many attractions. A car is essential and the owner can arrange this on your behalf if you wish

Additional information about rental rates

  • A deposit of twenty percent of the total price is required on booking and the balance of the total amount is required six weeks before arrival.For last minute bookings the full amount is payable on confirmation. The changeover day,(guests arriving and departing) is Thursday.
  • From January 1st 2010 until March 18th 2010 rates are £300 per week but, unlike most holiday properties this price includes all services (gas, water and electricity) and logs for the wood burning stove.
    There are heaters in the bathrooms, extra background heating in the living room and duvets and electric blankets for the beds.
    For longer lets (one month or more) the rate is £1000 per month
  • Weekly rates for 30th September until 30th December 2010 are £300 but, as quoted above, include all services

Notes: A generous complimentary welcome pack will await your arrival, and the house has a good selection of books and video tapes. In the winter there are electric blankets for the beds and a wood-burning stove for which logs are supplied. Maid service is on Monday,and Thursday for three hours each day. Market research has encouraged us to change from a daily maid service to two days per week as guests apparently prefer to maximise their privacy. However, if guests prefer a daily maid service it can be provided at no extra cost. Telephone and e-mail facilities are available at the owners house which is conveniently nearby but entirely separate from Casa Escondida. Bedrooms and lounge are equipped with ceiling fans. There is a full size badminton court in the garden. The Casa Escondida Book which you will find in the house,gives details and instructions on daytrips and how to get around central Algarve

12th July-26th July 2007. Had a lovely holiday. Villa superb....website doesn't do it justice. John always on hand but never intrusive...could not have been more hospitable or helpful. Accommodation and pool spotless. Two weeks not enough...we'll just need to come back !! The Thomsons, South Queensbury, Scotland. 5July 2007. We have been here for three weeks. What a smashing house and garden. Had a wonderful time and will definitely be back !! Gus and Sue Petrie, Dundee Scotland, Loved the villa. It was lovely to be greeted with such a warm welcome even though we arrived late at night!! John and Anna Brookfield 21st-27th October 2005. A lovely holiday..very relaxing. The description of Casa Escondida on the web does not do justice to the reality. A very warm welcome awaits you at Casa Escondida......everything you need....just bring yourself !! Something to look forward top next year when we have booked for a month

A sunny week at a perfect villa

We have just got back home from a brilliant week at Casa Escondida - what a find! It is just perfect; clean, quiet, well equipped, excellently maintained and just the perfect place to spend a relaxing holiday. My 2 boys, aged 9 and 6, loved the pool, which was the cleanest and most well maintained pool we have ever had. We have visited the area before and completely fallen in love with it and finding this villa has meant that we are planning to go back again next year - for 3 weeks this time though, as 1 week just flew past. I can't recommend this place strongly enough, I shall be passing on the details to all family and friends.

We enjoyed the villa in June 2009 very much. Private but not to isolated and John was on hand if you needed any help or advice. The salt water pool was lovely spent a lot of time in it. The villa had everything we wanted and spotless. The welcoming pack was more than expected, along with white and red wine. John has thought of everything. We enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next june.

This villa is a true home from home, everything has been thought of for your comfort. You arrive to a welcome from John who is ever helpful throughout your stay but not intrusive. He provides an excellent services for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The welcome pack is well thought out to see you through until you get to the shops.
I would recommend Casa Escondida to anyone,this was our second stay and you haven't seen the last of us John.

We have just had a most wonderful relaxing holiday at Casa Escondida, John and Rogelia looked after everything really well. We were made to feel very welcome, a lovely clean bright villa in a lovely area, it was a fantastic way to spend our Ruby wedding anniversary. Great for people of all ages we shall be returning without doubt.
