Photos and Description of this Santa Barbara de Nexe holiday villa 3 Twin/double bedrooms (sleeping 6), 2 bathrooms + guest cloakroom

Monte Perry,built in 2005, is set in large gardens.The self contained guest wing is in the style of a traditional but modernised Portuguese home with air con (incl. in rental). (Note, the main wing will be unoccupied when the guest wing is let). On the first floor is a large bedroom (king-size/twin beds) with Sat TV and an en-suite bathroom (bath & sep. shower). The ground floor consists of two (twin/king-size) bedrooms, adjoining full bathroom, large open plan kitchen with dining area and additional comfortable seating area leading to a separate sitting room with satellite TV, DVD and VCR. Also cloakroom (W/C + basin). Patio doors lead to large terrace, pool and area with new gas barbecue. The fully equipped kitchen has dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, gas hob, electric fan oven and microwave. There are 5 large electrically operated sun awnings and automatic cover for the 9m x 4.5m pool. Central heating and air con incl in rental. Note all internal photos are of guest wing

Set in 6500sq.mts of private fenced grounds with automatic remote controlled gates, the villa is just 400m from the centre of the charming village of Santa Barbara de Nexe, which has useful shops and a good variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and a bakers/coffee shop as well as a bank, post office, two hairdressers, new large supermarket, medical centre, dentist etc. The property is just 20 mins drive from Faro airport, and a similar distance from many beaches, golf courses and other leisure facilities. There is a crazy golf course just a few minutes drive away and also new tennis courts are a similar distance. There are no steep hills to climb to reach the villa. The short walk to the village is along a quiet road that has pavements and street lighting.

Additional information about rental rates

  • 25% non refundable deposit required upon reservation. Balance must be paid at least 8 weeks prior to arrival. A £200 refundable deposit is required with balance payment to cover unforeseen breakages. Note that air conditioning in the summer and full central heating in the cooler months are included in the rental rates. The swimming pool can be heated at an additional cost of £100 for the first week and £80 per week thereafter.

Notes: The property is double glazed with insect screens to all windows and doors. There is a night lit driveway with automatic remote controlled gates. The private pool is 9 x 4.5 metres, with an automatic cover, and has a natural salt treatment system which is kinder to skin and hair. There is underwater lighting for a night-time dip. An iron and ironing board are included in the kitchen. There is a games console with a variety of games in the sitting room. An electrically operated cold storage box can be used outside to keep drinks cool in the pool area. The children's play area has two swings, large slide and bench seat all situated in the shade under a very large carob tree. Also alongside is a very large trampoline with safety net and a new full size petanque (boules) court. Also new for 2009 - beach towels now provided. Maid service twice a week and weekly linen change. Complimentary wine/soft drinks on arrival.

Outdoor Eating Areas: There is a large paved, part shaded, breakfast area just outside the kitchen door, equipped with table and chairs. There is also another terrace area equipped with comfortable cushioned seating and side tables and with three electric sun awnings. This is in addition to the main terrace area which has an outdoor dining suite with a table that extends to 3m and the area is also covered by a large electric sun awning. There is also a further raised terrace area in front of the sitting room with octagonal dining table and chairs with yet another electric sun awning. All seating areas have lovely sea views, apart from the breakfast area which has impressive hill views .

We had an absolutely fabulous holiday, the best we have had as a family. The villa was beautiful, clean, felt safe and the pool cover gave us piece of mind – especially with a very curious toddler running around. The swing and slide was also a great hit as were the toys the owners very kindly left for Annabelle to play with.

The village is a 5 minute walk where there are some restaurants (there's a very good Italian) and we really enjoyed having BBQs at the villa and eating outside where we could enjoy the many different eating areas around the villa with fabulous views.

We will definitely be booking again!!

Peace and Quiet

A Spacious and very peacful villa excellently maintained and 5 minutes walk from the small town which has some good pubs and restaurants.
The owners meet you at the airport which is nice, but I would say not really essential. The villa is about 15 mins from Faro and is easy to navigate to.
The property is set on a large plot and is not overlooked by other properties, it's very quiet and there is lots of outside space which has a variety of fruit and olive trees as well as plenty of herbs.
Although we dont have any, the villa is well equipped to cater for Children and families and is the best equipped villa in all other areas that we have stayed in - the welcome pack is also the best we have seen.
Would reccomend to all, other than groups of teenagers as I think the town maybe a little quiet for them, which in our opinion is a good thing!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

The villa was every bit as lovely as it looks in the pictures and is excellent for families. There were 4 adults and we had a little girl who loved all the toys provided and the trampoline and boules went down a treat. There was also a shed full of pool/beach toys. The fact that towels and beach towels were provided was great. We did not go into the villiage much (no need - by the pool all day) but when we did the bakers and supermarket were excellent.

It was a home from home.

A lovely villa

A splendid villa in a very convenient, quiet location, just a few minutes walk from the village of Sta Bárbara de Nexe. Excellent restaurants in the village and neighbouring areas and a good supermarket. The owners think of everything in terms of facilities and provisions - hairdryer, bathrobe and even a little packet of paper tissues by the bed. Interesting sights a short distance away - the Roman ruins at Milreu, the palace at Estoi (now a hotel) and the church of São Lourenço at Almancil. Enjoy!

Monte Perry Villa

This was our first every stay in a Villa and I have got to say it has been our best accomodation stay ever. The owners of the villa were lovely, helpful people who gave the personal touch without being over fussy. They met us at the airport and kindly loaned us a car seat for our 2 year old grandson, they took us upto the villa shown us around everywhere. They had done some shopping for us as there are no shops open on Sunday in Portugal, and had booked us into a really lovely restaurant that evening. We had hired a car and went out some of the days we were there but to be honest we could have stopped around the villa, our grandson was occupied all the time with lots of toys, and toys for the pool which we had heated. Everything was very well maintained, spacious and clean and it felt like home from home only much nicer, that none of us wanted to leave. There are 3 different places outside the villa to eat which we took advantage of daily. We would recomend this villa to anybody especially families with any age group of children! Monte Perry is beautiful place to stay in with lovely well maintained gardens. Something we felt with having a 2 year old was how safe it was in it's own grounds with remote control gates to access it. We are really glad we chose Monte Perry it is a gem of a villa!
