From your luxury apartment you can explore historic Lagos with its narrow, winding, cobbled streets, churches and small squares. The apartment is situated in the Rua Infante de Sagres and within 5 minutes walk you will find excellent restaurants, bars and boutiques. The promenade, the Avenida dos Descobrimentos, leads you to the Fishing Harbour and Marina, also with its shops and cafes. Beyond that stretches the long sandy Meia Praia beach, ideal for sunbathing and swimming. To the west of the town there are a number of small cove beaches. Within easy reach of Lagos are a number of excellent golf courses, a zoo and water park. The town has bus and train links with the rest of the Algarve coast. You are also an easy drive away from the impressive Cape St. Vincent, the most south-westerly point of Europe.

Notes to the rental rates

  • The apartment can be booked from any day for any duration. June rates apply to Easter and Christmas period. The rates include a complimentary meet and greet service and a weekly linen/towel change. A 20% deposit is required to confirm your booking. Full payment is required eight weeks prior to arrival together with a £100 security deposit, which will be refunded once the apartment has been checked for any breakages/damage. Cots and High Chairs can be supplied at £20 each per week. Please note we do not rent out when the entire group is under 25 years of age. Rental can be paid in either British Pounds or Euros.

Transport

Car hire can be arranged through many agencies but we use Luzcar, based in Lagos. Tel 00351 282 761 016. If you do not wish to hire a car, private transfers can be arranged from Faro airport at a cost of 85 euros each way, Tel 00351 282 789 601. There is also a bus and train service from Faro to Lagos.

Things to do

There are water parks and a marine zoo within 30 minutes drive. Boat trips and dolphin safaris can be arranged at the marina. Activity companies offer mountain biking, canoeing and guided walks in the nearby hills. There is a two screen cinema 5 minutes walk from the apartment which features the latest films in English. There are a variety of festivals and events run throughout the year. Go to the tourist information office in the centre of Lagos for news of local activities. There is a daily fish market in the town and regular outdoor markets. An abundance of restaurants offer European and Portuguese cuisine.

Golf information

The nearest golf course is Boavista, 1 mile west of Lagos. In the other direction, 1 mile east of Lagos, Palmares golf course is part links and is highly regarded. About 15 minutes drive towards Portimao is the famous Penina course with its 18 hole championship course and 9 hole resort course. 10 miles to the west of Lagos is the more recently designed Parque de Floresta course.
