Notes to the rental rates

• 5% discount for bookings longer than a week. Please enquire for special weekend rates for golfers and weekend breaks from Nov - Apr (except UK holiday periods). Long-term winter lets also available at substantial discounted rates, electricity will be metered and charged separately. A welcome pack can be arranged for £10. A complimentary meet and greet service at the apartment is included. Airport transfers & car hire can be arranged, details available on request.
  
• Changeover day is Saturday during the peak season May to Sep but other days including midweek will be considered if booking calendar allows during the peak season. At all other times changeover day is flexible.
  The apartment will be available from 2pm on day of arrival and should be vacated by 10am on day of departure. Any reasonable variations on these timings where other booking commitments allow will be accommodated.
  
• Payment accepted in Euros or Sterling. 20% deposit required to confirm booking. Balance & £150 security deposit due eight weeks prior to arrival. Security deposit returned within one week after departure, please note the deposit will not be used against any small breakages such as crockery.

Stunning beaches

The beaches around Lagos are the most beautiful of the Algarve, like Praia de Dona Ana, which can be reached by a short road train ride from the Marina. Meia Praia, whose sands stretch for 4 km (2.5 miles) east of Lagos is only 10 mins walk from the apartment. Along the beach you will find plenty of good restaurants and beach bars for drinks, lunch or dinner. There is a windsurf centre on the beach.In addition to Meia Praia there are numerous other stunning beaches within a 5-10 minute drive of the Marina. Porto de Mos, Camillo, Luz, Salema and Burgau are definitely worth a visit. All beaches are family friendly and spotless. Further west the coast delivers some wild and beautiful beaches. The enormous waves on these beaches make them very popular with surfers.

Families

The apartment is suitable for families including those with small infants. The balcony area is also protected with anti climbing measures. A smoke alarm and fire extinguisher is fitted for your peace of mind. The kitchen is also equipped with child friendly eating utensils i.e. plastic cutlery, plates and cups. A high seat attachment & cot can be arranged. There is also a children’s pool enclosed within the secured condominium from which small children cannot venture outside. The adjoining condominium has a children’s play area which is accessible to all with mini bumper cars & powered boats plus swings and wooden climbing frames. The apartment is equipped with a DVD player to entertain the kids. Failing that a two screen cinema 10 mins walk from the apartment, in town, features all films in English ! All the beaches in and around Lagos are all very family friendly and calm. Within a 30mins drive there are several water & theme parks suitable for children of all ages and adults.

Getting around & things to do.

The location of the apartment genuinely does not require you to have a rented car though of course for convenience you may still wish to hire one. Transfers can be arranged from Faro airport or you can take the bus or train. The train station & bus station are 5 mins walk away from the apartment. Services go to the rest of the Algarve, Lisbon, beaches, water & theme parks. There is a large supermarket, 3 mins walk from the apartment. There is a daily fresh fish market in the town & on Saturdays there is a local market. There are open-air summer concerts at the amphitheatre. The cultural centre of Lagos frequently has recitals & art exhibitions. Lagos cinema shows the latest films in English. The fort & moat at the entrance to the harbour, baroque church of St Anthony, art galleries in the old slave market building, Zoo & the Museum of Lagos are worth a visit. Within a 30mins drive there are several water & theme parks. The Marina offers boat cruises & fabulous dolphin safaris.

Golf Information:

5 minutes from Lagos Marina lies the scenic and serene Palmares course, an 18 hole par 72 that perfectly combines beach and mountain scenery. This is reflected in the course, with its links outward nine and hillier back nine and arguably the most striking first hole in the Algarve, with its high tee position pointing straight out to sea. 5 minutes drive in the opposite direction brings you to Boavista, designed by Howard Swan, it is an 18 hole par 71Championship course situated overlooking the Atlantic and Lagos town. A new course, Boavista is a welcome addition to Algarve golf and the discerning visitor, as its combination of design, location and the sheer variety of holes make playing Boavista a wonderful experience for all. Boavista also has the benefit of a driving range and excellent teaching academy. A mere 10 minutes from the Marina is the Penina course, this is the master work of legendary golfer Henry Cotton and the first golf course to grace the Algarve. This Championship course, five times host to the Portuguese open, is an 18 hole par 73 requiring length and accuracy to score low. A 15 minute drive along the N125 towards Sagres will bring you to the superb Parque de Floresta golf resort. The course is an 18 hole par 72 laid out through valleys and inland hills, which in spring are blanketed in flowers. The course provides a good and attractive challenge with lakes and rivers to negotiate and with spectacular views of the shimmering Atlantic to the south side.
